I'll bump this thread when Ingram makes rookie of the year.
it won't matter
a 1200 yard back signed for nothing last offseason
he split time and got 900 this year

The one we used on him, and the 2 it took to get that pick
thats some awesome math.

That's illogical unless you think Ingram wasn't worth the 28th pick (all things considered).
he wasn't
In SFPs opinion. Obviously he was to the people who make a living off of making football decisions. When you work in an NFL front office, I'll be inclined to believe your opinion.

you have to be an AD-type to be worth that
who's to say he won't be?
PS. If your FO knowledge was as good as your "game" with women, you wouldn't be in the friend zone so much.
just sayin'

I'm saying it's too early to say whether it's a wasted pick. There is no data to support either conclusion.
I personally like the pick, but I can't sit here and tell you the Saints hit a home run.

what badass RB did the packers have this year?
what badass RB did the saints have in 2009?

who would have been better in the second round then ingram? This really cost us one pick. And anyone who has seen the Saints run the ball knows it was fricking worth it.

he does not have big play ability like AD, so he won't be

Don't be stupid. I'm not a fan of giving up next year's first for this, but we gave up two and got one back. That means we gave up two picks.
I don't have a problem with Ingram at 28. Especially since we grabbed the DE. My only gripe with the pick is we don't have a first next year as of right now. That's what it takes to move up from where we were and it's not something I would have done.
Having said that, here's an email I sent to a friend who can't follow the draft...
I know I'm a fricking sucker. All day I've listened to NFL experts on Sirius rave about Ingram. People I truly respect, but I wanted to pick up a DE/DT more. Every minute that goes by, I think of Steven Jackson. He was the top RB, but dropped because nobody wanted a running back. St Louis traded up into the late first to grab him (just a little earlier than we got Ingram). Even on a shitty team, he's been an absolute stud. I would trade PT and Ivory plus picks to get Jackson. Maybe we did something similar, but kept PT and Ivory.
By tomorrow, I'll be telling everyone how much I love this pick. But I know I'm a Saints sucker. I still think Jonathan Sullivan is going to have a change of heart and come back to dominate.

You're in the wrong profession, apparently.

i couldnt believe the saints DIDNT take ingram with the first pick, then when the trade was made, i KNEW this was what the saints were going to do........mark is the MAN.......... you will NOT be angry about this after the season starts.......

i wouldn't have picked a back in the 2nd round
i would have waited until the 4th-5th round to see what was availalbe
if nothing, go to FA and try to find a back who gets cut, like thomas jones last year

Don't listen to this fool. He thinks Jenkins was a miss in the first round, and he thought Porter went in the first rd.

Ha ha, I'll tell you one thing, it wouldn't be a Saints draft without a bunch of people pissed off. I guess the Saints saw that most everyone was happy with the Jordan pick and they just had to stir the pot!

Does anyone have a link handy that confirms the actual picks we are trading or did they hear it on draft show. I walked out of the room for a few, and didn't hear it. Thanks.

An improved running game means and improved Brees.
We addressed a need on defense (whether you agree with the player picked or not), and we grabbed more depth at a position that we were completely depleted in last year.
It's a lot of ifs, but if we don't suffer an insane amount of injuries on defense and in the backfield, the Saints are probably back in the Super Bowl last year.
