First of al, he will resign Brees. So we are talking about Nicks and Colston here.

A lot of the talking heads think that Colston might not chase money and just take a respectable number. Nicks on the other hand, may chase money. The reasons are that WR's don't have a history of going somewhere without a QB to throw to them. Also, teams usually like to save money in the interior of the line. So it is unlikely that Nicks and Evans stay together anyway.

I'm leaning toward the situation of losing Nicks and not Colston. I don't know about cutting Vilma and Smith without a bonafide replacement.

anybody think they'll sign randy moss now, he visited during the regular season when colston got hurt and when moore was having groin issues, i don't see any reason why they wouldn't look at him again since colston has the possibility of leaving. me personally i think randy would be a phenom addition to the team, he's easily a better deep threat than devery

I agree only because I think great players always have that one great year left in them. I think Randy still has one more year.

But I thik Colston is staying put and Nicks is gone.

True: Randy Moss visited New Orleans

False: Randy Moss visited the New Orleans Saints

(from what I remember)

WTF is wrong with this? I'm a CPA and I manage money, but that doesn't mean that's all I can do.

Nothing is wrong with it. It works quite well for us. I just wouldn't give him full GM credit when Payton/Saints coaches and scouts do have of the GM work

How do you know that they do half?

Also, what's different btw the NO GM position and any other position in professional sports?

This reminds me of when NFL Coaches are labeled as either "Offensive Minded Head Coaches" or "Defensive Minded Head Coaches".

I know that SP comes from the offensive side of the ball and that he gave a huge leash to 3G, but does that mean he doesn't know anything about the defense?

Should we not give SP all the credit of being a great head coach when he only coaches the offense?

Not positive, but pretty damn sure. Loomis wasn't very good in Seattle and wasn't very good before Payton got to the Saints. He makes that great hire, and all of a sudden he's a good personnel evaluator? Nah, going with logic.

Doubt he's good enough to coach and call one.

He calls one of the best offenses in football, and hires a good DC. Thats doing a good job of managing his program. He gets credit for making a good defensive hire. Just like Loomis gets credit for making a great head coaching hire in Sean.
