Exactly, it's not like it's a secret that you're going for it. It's still a standard football play for short yardage. Why should the success rate be any different than any other play?

It would also give a coaching staff more freedom on 2nd and 3rd downs

Easterbrook's stats tested bottom line for those too lazy to read....
