Should the Saints have fired Payton?

Just a point for discussion. It is obvious after the Washington game that we don't have a head coach. We have someone filling the position. This year could be a disaster because there is no coaching leadership. You can say what you want about the interims, but if they were any good at being a head coach they would be elsewhere. Was keeping Payton such a smart move in light of the record we will likely have this year and isn't there some chance that he may want to move on anyway and get a fresh start. When Jason Garrett is fired in Big D, will Jones move to get Payton?

Ill defend the OP its a legitimate question. An NFL season w Brees in his prime is a very special thing. We may be wasting this one.

So without Drew Brees being locked up long term during the offseason, we should have fired his BFF Coach Payton and moved on from the only system in which Drew Brees has been prolific in.
