Copeland is nothing special. I would not want him.

There really haven't been that many silly draft LSU players yet.

Just this one and the sarcastic Collins thread.

I could care less where copeland went to school. I just tired of why don't Peyton run the ball and Ingram suds threads. No one can deny that a FB that can block and get the runner to the second level would improve our running game.

It's not like we have AP in our backfield.

In that case, a "What are our FB options?" may have been better than a "How about drafting JC Copeland?" thread.

Because honestly, I would prefer a better FB; but I have never been impressed with Copeland.

It'd be interesting to see what Payton would do with him. Defensive backs who've been so keen at snuffing out screens to Sproles, might not be as eager with a 280 lb bowling ball heading their way. Ditto the short yardage plays up the gut. Defenses are built to stop the smaller, faster guys right now, and a serious power option might do some damage.

I thought the fullback issue is durability, though. A guy like Copeland only has a couple of years before he's broken down (maybe one contract), and then you have to reload with another bruiser.

He isn't anything special. Like I said earlier he rarely shows any legitimate burst and doesn't exactly run violently. He goes down surprisingly easy for a 280 lb guy. He also whiffs on quite a few blocks. The only thingS that makes you stop to look at the guy are his decent hands for a 280 guy and his big mouth.

JC prolly lost game against Alabama. Hes good but that fumble was a turning point or criticalpoint in that game.

Don't need, have bigger glaring needs than drafting Copeland.

Improving offensive line will give the Saints much more improvement in the running game than FB. You can't deny that.

And, just isn't that good. Jed is way better today and is young enough. If you are worried about youth, the Saints still have Austin Johnson. Hell, Neighbors had way more playing time than Copeland.

Yes so he can single handedly be responsible for two straight loses to our biggest rival. One for being a dumb*** and the other for being a bigger dumb***. No thanks he's a choker

I don't see any rankings that do not have him behind Prosch, Millard, & Hewiit. Guessing only Prosch has a shot at being drafted at all. Otherwise, sure, bring him into camp. Payton can always use a different toy to try on offense.

Bingo.

Dude had a HUGE penalty against Alabama in 2012 and this past year he fricked up a perfect drive by fumbling at the 1 yard line.

Do not want.

Yeah def not the best runner but I thoroughly enjoyed watching him advance to 2nd level of Defense and pop a LB or a creeping S. Although SP likes his FBs to have a little versatility. I think a good possibility a run 1st team (SF, Min, etc) would take him a lil earlier than most expect. He may kill it at the combine and move up everyone's boards, we shall see

WHO DAT!
