I was so happy when we signed him now I can't wait to get rid of him. Who was the deep snapper anyway?

you are mad at him for being mad at a guy that apparently financially screwed over half the team?

more follow up and summarization from Florio PFT-

Though we don't think the move was retaliatory (even though coach Sean "Spielberg" Payton lost $144,000), we're convinced Houser was cut because his ongoing presence would have disrupted team chemistry. How are the 53 men in the locker room supposed to properly focus on winning football games when there's a guy hanging around that several of them would like to beat until he's unconscious?

Speaking of unconscious, tight end Jeremy Shockey (who lost $80,000 in the tax-credits deal) revealed significant animosity toward Houser via several recent entries on Shockey's Twitter page.

Wrote Shockey on July 7: "you think your buying LA film tac creits. but the f--kn snapper didnt... wow this is a f--ked up world we live in."

(We assume Shockey was referring to "tax credits." Unless "tac creits" is the name of some new drink they're mixing in Las Vegas.)

The Times-Picayune points out that Shockey also posted the following entry, which no longer appears on his page: "thx chad houser our long snapper for losing my coaches, teamates, and me around 2mill$.. what a dumb arse."

Earlier today, Shockey summed up his feelings, again via Twitter: "Glad we got a new long snapper bad people bring bad karma...."

So the Saints probably made the right move. Whether the Collective Bargaining Agreement permits a termination decision to be based on such considerations is a separate issue.

And it won't become relevant unless and until Houser decides to file a grievance. Based on recent comments from Houser that seemed to indicate acceptance of the move, it's not likely that Houser will be fighting his firing.

Houser did not intentionally screw over the team - he himself got screwed over.

And judging from Shockey's twitters, the dude is a mental midget (as if we didn't know that already). He's about twice as dumb as I would have thought he is.

no, but it happened, most of the time people don't mean to do things like that, but it happens, and he had to be let go.

Unfortunately that's how it works. Houser was a good guy, just got caught up in the wrong thing.

If I'm running a scam, one thing that I would make sure to do is make sure that it looks as if I got screwed by it, as well.

Just sayin'...

I, being one who has been a Shockey hater since before he was ever traded here, am in total agreement with you. While the dude is a douche and terrible teammate, he has a right to gripe on this subject.

Oh yeah, one other thing, WHAT figs ARE USING TWATTER??? Come on season.... come on come on come on

oh yeah, and one other thing, WHO GIVES A FUNK ABOUT A FUNKIN LONG SNAPPER THAT NOBODY EVEN KNEW FUNKIN EXISTED UNTILL HE WAS CUT!!!!!

I hate you guys :)

I agree. What is the point of calling out a deep snapper who just got cut. JM better do it big this year or he deserves to be traded again to some place like Detroit.
Be a team player or shut the hell up.

Have any of you been to Ada,Oklahoma.....
Its horrible. I played JUCCO baseball in Ok. and that place is way behind the times. Being there for 3 yrs of my life, I don't expect anything less than that from Shockey. Its not his fault he is from southeast oklahoma.

I think he has a right to be extremely pissed. Having said that, he should be a pro about the situation and keep his mouth shut from here on out.
I am a shockey fan...there i said it..
I am predicting a 8+ TD season with 60 catches and around 700 yds.
He is going to be an integral part of our offense.. just wait...
And when this happens all the vagina bandwagoners on this site will cream their panties.
