Did not realize as a whole how bad everyone was in the NFC South.

The Panthers finished 29th in the league against the pass, allowing 269.2 yards per game.

With a patchwork cornerback group, the Saints finished the season ranked last in the league against the pass, allowing 273.8 yards per game.

The Buccaneers closed the 2016 season ranked 22nd against the pass (250.8 yards allowed per game).

Without Trufant in the lineup, the Falcons finished the regular season ranked 28th against the pass (266.7 yards per game).

Well when you play 6 games against a combo of Brees/Newton/Ryan/Winston you might get shite on a few times.

Trufant played 9 games so let's not let Atl slide that much.

Also it's not just on the corners. LBs, safeties, and pass rush all factor in.

That said for us starting 2 street FAs and a rookie UDFA we could have done a lot worse (like setting the record for worst pass d ever), but instead we weren't far and away the worst. A couple of yards gets us out of last place.

Edit:
A couple of different sites actually has GB as the worst last year.

Yeah I know there are more factors to passing yards allowed than the CB but was just suprised as a whole we were all bad last year.

Also, looking at who did play for each team no one had a shutdown corner.

And are we the only team that addressed the need early in the draft? At least directly in the secondary.

Yep and I think barring injuries, will pay dividends this season.

Williams and Lattimore if healthy will be difference makers.

The NFC South has been loading up on WR for a few years now to go with some good QBs. Cooks, Thomas, Mike Evans, J. Jones, K. Benjamin, etc. Not to mention that New Orleans was No. 1 in passing yards last year and atlanta was No. 2.

One benefit of the Saints corners being thrown into the fire last year is we have some young backup guys that have legit experience. I'm seeing Lattimore and Breaux with Williams and Moore next in line or in the slot. Devonte Harris and Crawley are not starters but are also no longer unknown question marks. For as "off the street" as they came, they weren't terrible. Crawley wraps up after the catch at least-

Well, this year, yes. ATL just drafted Keanu Neal (S) and Jalen Collins 2 years ago, which is why they spent more at DE and LB this year.

I guess what I'm saying is, it's all subjective based upon the year. Look at what the NFC South has done for each team the last 3 years to get a bigger glimpse of what each teams weaknesses are at currently.

This might indicate a lack of pass rush rather than bad CB play.
