Take it how you want it, but he would have never stood for all of those penalties in the game. Also just his knack for calling the right plays at the right time. The culture is there, but you cannot replace the man.

he really does hold the players accountable and brings out the best in them.

I doubt it. I wonder if Benson will have the balls to tell Goodell to frick himself and reinstate Payton on Monday.

yeah, this looked like a poorly disciplined and poorly coached team today.

We really need Sean back.

Of course Payton is missed. Only a fringe group of people said he wouldn't be. But the saints will rise above. They will find their groove. They're too talented and well led not too.

Absolutely, Payton is a hell of a lot more than a headset with a play sheet.

I think it's way too early in the season to be so sure of that. It is easy to blame the Saints' deficiencies on Payton's absence, but it is very possible that it wasn't that.

yep, looked like a backyard team without a coach. It showed in the penalties, game flow and speed

Facts are facts. The Saints received a "death penalty" from Godell. The exception is that we did not lose all of our draft picks in a season.

How can Saints fans think or believe that Payton's system being in place would carry the team through. Especially when you transition from an interim coach in preseason to another interim coach for the first 8 games.

You lose\t Payton's input on all the game plans. We're in for a tough season.
