Sorry if this has already been discussed.

Injury Report

This could be huge for us. Other than establishing the running game, I think getting Drew and Jimmy on the same page is one of the most important factors in our offense having success up there.

ETA: I just realized the injury report is for week 17 so it doesn't really mean anything. But I first heard that he's out from a friend who's a huge Seahawks fan. So I'm sure he'll be out this week.

ETA#2: Yep, he's out. He will be back if they beat us though.

The way we're going to be them is on the ground. The Philly game was prep.

That's pretty awesome.

But remember, we thought we were gonna have a huge edge with 2/3 starting CBs out and it didn't do anything. So I'll hold my breath on that.

ETA: I wonder if they're gonna have those guys back for this game

No doubt that will be the way to beat them. But we still have to be able to throw. And we'll have to throw better than we did last week. Getting Brees and Graham going will go a long way in accomplishing that.

We will absolutely need a productive run game. But I think well also need to put in a lot less timing based routes. The way Seattlws DBs play, they're gonna be up at the LOS re-routing and knocking us down all day. Payton's really gonna have to get creative and not try to lean on things like screens that a defense like that will sniff out in a heartbeat

Yea I dont feel comfortable doing too many screens against this team. Hopefully Payton doesn't force those with Pierre back.

He's definitely out and he was huge against the Saints. Defensive MVP of that game in my opinion. His backup is Malcolm Smith though who is a stud. PFF rated Smith as the 5th best 4-3 OLB in the NFL in their final rankings. Wright would be better at covering Graham though since he has more size and is longer than Smith. Smith is faster though.

Pete carroll this morning-

Linebacker K.J. Wright collected six tackles and a pass defensed in coverage of Saints All-Pro/Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham in Week 13, but Wright has been ruled out of Saturday's contest with a foot injury. "Those plays he made have to be made by somebody else," Carroll said. "The matchups will change because he's not playing." Carroll has said Wright looks "very promising" to return for any games the Seahawks may play after this weekend.

Also on Harvin-

Percy Harvin (hip) participated in the team's two bonus practices during last week's bye, but Carroll would not yet confirm the wide receiver's status for this weekend. "We'll see what happens," he said. "We've got a lot of hard days here this week to see if he can make it through it. The accumulation of the days and the workload, we're going to need to see how that works on him."

This could probably be its own thread, but they knocked us out of the playoffs 2 years ago in Seattle.

They beat us for the number one seed just over a month ago in Seattle.

Does this team really need any more motivation?

If we lose to them a third time in a row, we're officially pwned.

I cant think this team and particularly this coach would let that happen. Hopefully Payton gonna have a lil sumpin forem!

Sea defense is too deep to be effected by the loss of 1 player. As Patio says, we need to run to win. We also need Lewis playing. Without him, we are severely hurt

The Saints were very close to hitting a few big plays that could have changed the game last time. KJ Wright was responsible for stopping a couple of those. He didn't match up directly on Graham (Seattle doesn't really ever do straight one on one match ups), but he matched up with him a lot that game. Having Wright out could make things interesting.

Also, I fully expect Percy Harvin to play if he already was practicing last week and they haven't put him on IR. No reason at this point to keep him on the active roster if he's not going to play.

hope so but personnel wise I'd say Vaccaro out is a bigger hit to the Saints than Wright for the chickens.

Harvin could truly be a wildcard in the whole equation

Maybe with a real commitment to the running game, Graham can get open through good old fashioned play-action passes this time around.

Yup. If we had an ILB with any speed, then we could contain that. Will be a tough one

With Vaccaro out spy might be a good role for Harper. He excels in the box.
