People actually wanted this bum on our team only to stunt the growth of whoever else we decide to bring in. 
Dude is a career backup, who wouldn't do sh** for us if anything were to happen to Brees. And please don't bring up the Carolina game, lol. He's a waste of a roster spot. Good riddance. In Daniels we trust.

Pretty harsh for someone who did everything a backup was supposed to do.

He was a good backup, almost pulled off that Carolina game.
At least in preseason last year he seemed to be on the decline. Good timing on his release and don't we get some cap relief?

Well it's not like we've seen that young up and comer yet. Grayson seems to be a waste of time, and he's had his shot. I'm sure if we had someone who could potentially be groomed as the future starter, McCown would have been released before now. Him being on the roster didn't prevent anything.
I have no problem with the move. Daniel being brought back made McCown pointless, so it makes sense. But it's not like anything improved in the backup QB spot OR the prospect of our next starter.

Yes. I was mistaken last week (sorry Chad) as I thought he was only making vet min (a mil for him), but he was actually making $1.5 mil.
So adding back in the guy replacing him in the top 51 we save about a mil.
