He just said this on AFR while talking with Moscona. He emphasized the word "STRONG" when he said strong push. Take it fwiw.

This would be a game changer. A Darrenn Sharper type of difference maker minus the Ruffies.

They tried in Nov so not a surprise. Would take care of one of the big three areas on def.

We already tried once, so not surprised.

We tried for Norman too. A top-notch CB will be signed. It's just a matter of which one.

I don't think Haden is one of my top options as he is under contract and will likely cost a draft pick.

Why not? We'll just frick the draft pick up anyhow. At least we know Haden is good.

He's do over $10m in base salary over the next 3 seasons

We've improved our draft the past 2 seasons under Ireland

Do we?

2015:

quote:

Haden hasn't played in many games this year, but when he has, the Browns would have been better off with him not suiting up. Haden is averaging just 6.2 cover snaps per reception, which is the fourth-lowest in the NFL. What's more, his 2.60 yards per cover snaps allowed is the most in the NFL. Quarterbacks targeting Haden are 24-for-31 for 387 yards and four touchdowns. That's a QB rating of 158.2. Quarterbacks in the NFL this season have been 0.1 point off of being absolutely perfect throwing at Joe Haden.

He struggled a lot last year, and he has been injured a good bit the last 2 seasons. I'm not saying I'm against it, but it shouldn't be a valuable pick.

Constant groin injury in 2016 (sound familiar) and 2 concussions in 2015

Edit: He had groin surgery a week ago.

If he doesn't poke our eyes out in cost that might leave us enough room to still pick up an established
guard in free agency. Slim pickings for guards in the draft. Apparently his price tag was a bit much at the trade deadline.

He hasn't been "all-pro" shutdown corner Joe Haden for the last 2 years.

I mean a 6th rounder or something, sure I'd do it. Anything top 4 and its a big NOPE. I rather spend the 10mil+whatever else we need to chase after gilmore or bouye

Mickey's ideal free agent. Oft injured and/or shitty. Mickey's band-aid free agent fixes are more often like using the band-aid that fell to the bottom of the swimming pool.

He's not a free agent, and you could cut him without taking on much of a cap hit if he doesn't work out.

It's the 2017 money + the draft pick that is the issue. For a 6th or MAYBE a 5th, I think it would be worth the risk

We weren't willing to give up a 2nd for him last year and his value has gone down since then

Agreed. I'd give up our 6th rounder or our 2018 5th rounder at the most. 4th is giving up too much value for his salary & injuries.

2017 Cap # - 14.4 mil, Dead Money(if cut) - 6.8 mil(post June 1 cut is 3.2 mil in dead money)
2018 Cap # - 14.4 mil, Dead Money(if cut) - 3.6 mil
2019 Cap # - 10.9 mil, Dead Money(if cut) - $400,000

We wouldn't be due the prorated money in a trade. He'd have $0 dead money after 2017

I'm so sick of this front office. On the rare occasion that he's even on the field, he is no where close to the corner he used to be. The fact that they're even considering Haden proves to me that whoever is making these decisions still has absolutely no clue what they're doing.

I just checked out Jairus Byrd's 2017 number's on overthecap & it doesn't look good for him. A post June 1 cut only costs us 3.4 mil & saves us 8.3 mil.

2017 cap # - 11.7 mil
pre June 1 cut dead money - 8.0 mil, saves 3.7 mil

Yep. Whether Haden is even a top 10 CB anymore is very questionable.

Please pay up for Bouye and keep the draft pick.

Bouye and Breaux. Rolls off the tongue.

Mike D is not always accurate with his info on the Saints in offseason. Hope he is wrong here as well. The draft is very strong at the CB position and free agency has several talented CB. We should not be giving up assets for a guy that is looking to be on the downside of his career.

I wish we could draft well instead of having to overpay for free agents all the time. You build your team through the draft, but Sean and Mickey turn our drafts into a joke.
