as things stand now, it will be surprising to not see a guard drafted. I've been trying to figure how they might be stacking in relation to draft position. This is what I got...

Whitehair, K State, near consensus top guard, athletic, has played inside and out, Center potential (Unger UFA 2017). Would take at #47 but think he will be gone before

Alexander, LSU, also very experienced as most know. Dunno if he warrants #47 value but likely gone before #78

Joshua Garnett, Stanford, son of an NFLer, very athletic, not as much experience and still developing, particularly in pass pro, 3-5th Rd depending on how high they regard his upside potential

Sebastian Tretola, Arkansas, more development needed but a true grinder in the run game, Top SEC OL 2016 allowing only a half sack in the past two years. Could be a take at #78

Christian Westerman, AZSt, quicker, athletic, good in space with Center potential, perhaps better in a zone scheme, possibly down on Saints board 4-5th Rd

Landon Turner, NCSt, Grader but limitations in space, I could see him not fitting in NOLA also, 4-6th Rd

Who ya liking in what round?

I've seen some quotes from anonymous NFL scouts saying Alexander won't go in the top 100 picks. They say he'll be an average NFL player at best.

I think he'll be there in round 4 if we want him.

Alexander has no mobility. We run a ton of screens. Do not WANT.

Josh Garnett will go in round 2 or 3

Denver Kirkland needs to be on that list! I want Joshua Garnett in the 3rd or 4th round please.

most places have him late 1st. if he were to fall, which is an equal possibility as him to climb, gotta take him

I totally agree about Alexander being slow and not a fit in our screen heavy offense. Nail on the head.

Give me the kid from Missouri in the mid-late rounds.

Seen enough of Arkansa to know Tretola is agile and has versatility. A take in the 3rd for sure!!

I've been playing around with the draft boards and where the Saints are drafting it doesn't look good for the guards. Been contemplating the Saints drafting a center that can play guard for a few years. Unger has also played guard in the past, but I would rather him stay at center.

12: R1P12
DT SHELDON RANKINS
LOUISVILLE
47: R2P16
DT VERNON BUTLER
LOUISIANA TECH
78: R3P15
WR MICHAEL THOMAS
OHIO STATE
113: R4P14
C EVAN BOEHM
MISSOURI
153: R5P13
OLB DEION JONES
LSU
238: R7P16
G CONNOR MCGOVERN
MISSOURI

Fanspeak draft for instance with no trades. And I know most of these guys won't fall.

Yeah McGovern

Others:

Spencer Drango
Leraven Clark
Willie Beavers
Rees Ohiambo
Vi terafilo
Joe Dahl
Avery Young
Alex Redmond

Some of them are tackles but are better off at Guard

I also like McGovern for the middle rounds. I would jump on Clark if he happened to fall to the 3rd.

This right here should tell you those mock drafts are horrible.

Debo will be taken in the top 2 rounds.

Ifedi from A&M is another OT that could make for a good guard. May be available in the 2nd.
