ya'll wanna get like all oh yay and shite go for it. but he's a best case scenario veteran backup, we don't need depth, we need quality shite.

it is a tad disappointing

Who else were we going to sign at the LB that was going to fill that role?
Nobody is really saying this gets our defense over the hump. But there's not a bad side to it.

I like the signing. I'm not expecting a lot out of him, but we should get what we pay for...& hopefully more. We don't have a lot of money at all to spend. I assume this was the best option for the price.

in naysayers defense this is kind of the same story as victor butler except spencer has demonstrated he can be good.
just keep expectations low and its just a low risk, high reward scenario.

it is nothing anywhere near the same story.
VB = young promising player finishing rookie contract, didn't get many opportunities due to talent in front of him, signs with a new team with promise to be a future starter.
AS = aged vet who was very good once but has been dealing with injuries. looking for a chance to revitalize his career. we are looking for a hopeful one year starter but at least a solid contributor if recovered from injuries
Apples - hookers.... not a comparison at all. Is it that they both come from Dallas and are OLB that you guys want to say it's the same situation? come on now

Very definition of low risk, high reward signing.
No problem with it.

So betwee Harilson and Spencer, we have one starting caliber OLB. Right?

Fuse them together, they works right?
He's at worst depth, but this allows us to have someone that understands what rob wants at the bare minimum

both are playing heavily on the Rob Ryan factor. thats where I was coming from. So you come on...now.
as ive stated, good signing, but we have seen similar optimism before.

This signing sounds good to me.
The risk is always low, while the reward could be high.
