He has pro potential.
But we gave up a spot on the team for a 3rd QB in our playoff run we didn't need.
Tells me they will give RGIV the shot 1st.

Total lack of mobility with injury issues. I would not go in this direction. Personally, I would trade our number one and try to get draft choices this year and next.

You can't be serious. First off, Odell and Jarvis both fit. If Jeremy Hill slides to the 3rd I'm taking him and moving Ingram. Trai Turner could be a great 5th round pick for depth and to take over for Grubbs in 2015. Mett in the 4th is great value and would provide good depth and be a guy who could seriously take over after Drew. On defense Anthony Johnson I think could be a solid mid round pick as a DE for our 3-4.

Some of you guys act like playing for LSU takes you out of consideration for the pro's.

And then other's act like they have never watched a saints draft with statements like, "We have too many holes, needs elsewhere".

I'd take landry, odb, aj, hill; I'd take them all in heartbeat if the pick value is right. That's all that matters

Just bc they went to LSU doesn't mean they are out of consideration.

This board has major mob mentality, it's kind of silly.

ETA: I'm not defending OP either, I'd be pissed if we take mett anywhere, but some of the replies are pretty juvenile.

Way to exaggerate.

Most of the replies in this thread are serious.
Only a few are focused on the LSU aspect.
I've been saying we need Landry for months, and no one has accused me of being a dumb LSU tard, despite the letters next to my name.

If you can't deal with a few shots without whining, maybe this isn't the board for you.

I've been on this board longer than you.

Long enough to see how every "Suggestion of any LSU player" thread goes.

ETA: And I'll whine if I want to. I'm sure your post history yields some of the same.

Really?

So if I started a thread talking about Landry or Beckham, all the posts would say "LSU? Do not want."?

No, I don't think so.

But this is a thread discussing a damn quarterback, something we absolutely do not need to draft at this time.
It makes sense people assumed the OP was just suggesting Mett for the LSU connection, especially considering he's someone who looks like he's a rant poster.

I guarantee 100% you would get "LSU player,WE must draft, Let's take .. from LSU in the 2nd, .. from LSU in the 3rd, ... from LSU in the 4th..... championship" posts.

In fact there have been plenty of OBDJ and Landry threads this year, and I'm sure if I weren't lazy, I could mine examples.
You can't deny people see LSU in a title and go into thread, skip over op, and post something like that or "no" automatically.

Maybe I picked a bad thread to actually "Whine" about this, but it's here and I've got nothing better to do

Lot of people in this thread and on this board truly have no knowledge of football. How can you say we have no need at QB when Drew is getting old and our only backup is an I drafted rookie. Huge need. Griffen may develop bit I doubt he ever starts a game in the NFL. Like I posted earlier I could make arguments for a hell of a lot of LSU players and have valid arguments, yet you rantards would look and say oh that's stupid, while not having two shits of an idea about anything

You really want to go there?

Even with Brees getting old, he will still realistically play for 3-5 more years, on the low end.

You really want to spend a draft pick on a quarterback who will ride the bench for that long?

I've been on your end before.

It used to be much worse.
At one time, you couldn't even mention LSU without the board calling you a rantard, especially with Fox Mulder around.

But things have gotten a lot better.

Yeah I'm saying we need a QB. Especially if we can get a guy with a first round arm in the 4th because he fore his acl. Let him develop under Drew. You say Drew has 3-5 left but just as easily I can say he may have no more than 3, and is one play away from being done. You want to pin all hopes on Griffen? Lol.

Yet you think Turner is going to be available in the 5th and we should draft hill in the 3rd because of Ingram's massive trade value

Tall, cannon for an arm and pretty accurate. Does that sound familiar?

We liked him enough to stop other teams from acquiring him and lose a roster spot. We just hired his qb coach from Tulane and Payton and Loomis love him.

God that would be a far cry from the Brees era. Brees' mobility is criminally underrated. The way he's able to avoid pressure is amazing. Calling Mett a statue, is an insult to statues everywhere.

he'll some thought he wouldn't get drafted. I always assumed mid rounds. I know there has been a recent mock with him in the 1st but I seriously doubt it.
