2 were undrafted guys the Saints found.

Yeah, he's counting a guy on our team as a "hit", which supports the "don't re-sign Ingram" argument.

Again, I don't have a problem with his new deal, but I probably wouldn't have done it if I were in charge. If we can improve our interior line play, though, I can see Ingram having a monster year if they just feed him. I like Khiry a lot, but the Saints need to cut down their rotation to two main guys in close games. I think that would make Ingram a lot more comfortable and get him into a groove. They're paying him bell cow money, so give him that role.

They are a dime a dozen. Not all of them are good. Some are in timeshares, some are specialty guys, some are drafted as depth.

The 4 guys who the Saints hit on as UFDA

Khiry- 130/586/4
Bell- 471/1924/18
Ivory- 818/3745/28
Pierre- 636/2961/17

Total- 2055/9216/67

Career combined YPC of 4.48. Bell and Pierre are two of the top pass catching backs in the NFL. I dont have faith in many aspects of the scouting department, but finding RBs hasnt been a problem. The hit rate suggests a skill, not luck.

Anyone, Im excited to have Ingram back and I think he's a good back. I like that's he's pumped to be back, too.

I count it as a "hit" because so many on here consider him a hit.

Personally, you could see my posts saying I'd prefer him as our lead back if we got Helu/Vereen and go to a 2-back RBBC.

I'm pointing out the fact that this concept of being able to find RB gems so easily is skewed. We hear a lot of Morris and Foster, but you don't hear of the 20 other RBs that have done jack squat in the past 5 years.

This year's top 25 yard guys:
1. 3rd (1845 yards)
2. 2nd
3. 2nd
4. 1st
5. 7th
6. UDFA
7. 2nd
8. 2nd
9. 1st
10. 4th
11. 6th
12. 2nd
13. 3rd
14. 1st (964 yards - Ingram)
15. UDFA
16. UDFA
17. UDFA
18. 1st
19. 3rd
20. 4th
21. 1st
22. 2nd
23. 3rd
24. 1st
25. 6th (660 yards)
16/25 1-3rd round
5/25 4-7th round
4/25 UDFA

YPG, hoping that he can stay healthy.
1. 3rd (115.3ypg)
2. UDFA
3. 2nd
4. 2nd
5. 1st
6. 7th
7. 1st (Ingram - 74.2ypg)
8. 2nd
9. 2nd
10. 1st
11. 3rd
12. 4th
13. 6th
14. 2nd
15. 3rd
16. 1st
17. 7th
18. UDFA
19. UDFA
20. 6th
21. 3rd
22. 2nd
23. UDFA
24. 3rd
25. 3rd (48.1YPG)
16/25 1-3rd round
5/25 4-7th round
4/25 UDFA

Ingram ranks 14th in rushing yards, 7th in YPG overall.

Only Forsett and Foster are higher in YPG that were non 1st-3rd.

Only Forsett, Foster, Miller, and Morris are higher in total yards that were non 1st-3rd.

Shady Mcoy got $40Mm over 5 years. That's twice what the Saints gave Ingram. Mcoy is not worth twice Ingram. Saints made a better deal.

Eta: $15MM guaranteed in 2015. Wow. Ingram deal looking better and better.

4 mil a year is a steal for Ingram. I was expecting him to be able to make 6 mil from some other team. Glad he stayed here for a discount.
