Saints last 3 games against Seattle (some stats that Seattle fans won't like)

These are the games we've played against them in the Payton/Brees era:
Away 2011/01/08 Seattle Seahawks 41 - New Orleans Saints 36 L ** NFC WILDCARD **
Home 2010/11/21 Seattle Seahawks 19 - New Orleans Saints 34 W
Away 2007/10/14 Seattle Seahawks 17 - New Orleans Saints 28 W
In this stretch:
OFFENSE
We are averaging 32.6 points against Seattle.
We are averaging exactly 32 points against them AT Seattle.
DEFENSE
Our defense has averaged 25.6 points given up against them.
Our defense AT Seattle for both games has given up an avg. of 29 points. So we're still +3 if we factor in our avg. amount of points scored at Seattle in our last two games there.
If you take out that one absolutely retarded run by Lynch, that number goes down to 23.3 points per game given up by our defense in that 3 game stretch. (And we probably would have won that playoff, as well). Also, it's possible that our 2013 defense might be the best we've had in the Payton era. (If not, easily 2nd best after the 2009 defense)
In our two wins against them, the avg. margin of victory was 13 points. Again, if you subtract that one Lynch run we win that game but our avg. margin of victory goes down to 9.3 points.
Summary: We match up much better against Seattle (even AT their house) better than what the talking heads might have you believe. In the last 3 games we have played against them, we have scored more points than the previous meeting.
Not taking anything away from Lynch (because that dude is really a beast), but even with him playing lights out against our major weaknesses at defense for that playoff game, they still only won by 5 points.
Just some stats for you.

I appreciate the work, but our teams are completely different now.

Oh I totally get that.
But it is interesting & still somewhat relevant to see some recent history between both teams.

I'd go interesting but little relevance
Historically i like to bring this up when ya hear the endless yada yada about the Saints being so poor on the road...
Payton era AWAY game record at outdoor stadiums- 15-6

Y'all seen the Seahawks' message board?
I've never seen fans so overconfident.
It's pretty obvious they've never been there.

I don't think there's a question. The 2009 defense generated turnovers (I think that was Darren Sharper's presence and veteran coaching). Otherwise, GW defenses were pretty sorry. This Rob Ryan defense is straight up good.. it doesn't have to generate 4 or 5 turnovers a game to make a defensive impact.

Nope they were like this on 05 and 06. They never have and never will understand the NFL

Huge difference is that we actually have a defense now. With the way this defense is destroying the run, I'm actually pretty confident going into this game. Now, knowing two of their three top CBs are out, I'm even more confident. This will be a bey good game, but think we take it.

I know right, it's like they have won 3 straight Superbowls. I never wanted to win a game so bad besides the 2009 year & every Falcons game.
Oh & now Carolina talking mad shyt too.

and there's the endless "wooo, the seachickens defense is just awesome. A shutdown D..." yada yada yada
Well folks, now after a strong 11 game sample of both teams...
Seattle/NOLA
Points Allowed 179/196
Yds Allowed 3226/3409
1st Downs Allowed 212/190
and this one prolly cuz of how physical their DBs are...
1st Downs Given On defense by Penalty 29*/13
*worst in the NFL
The are a stout, tough, challenging defense. The reality is though- the Saints are too! The more I look, the more I like the odds in this game. Just like how the '09 MNF game vs. NE kinda cemented that year, this game could be the same way.
