Didn't see a thread about it yet.
Just letting you guys know ahead of time if planning on going to the game.

Makes sense. Two undefeated teams (assuming they both win next week) and possible super bowl preview.

Two MVP candidates playing as well, should be a good one

probably flexed for the fantasy football junkies.
<---- guilty
should be a busy day for the scoreboard operator.

the people like the games with a lot of points I guess. That SEA-PIT game a few weeks got pretty crazy.
I don't know if our game with the Jags could shootout like that one but you never know.
we've already been apart of a barn burner with the Giants.

When was the last time we won a late afternoon game?

49ers two years ago is my best guess.

If it's a 3:05 then it's it's not a doubleheader game.
I believe both networks are required to have one late game every week so that the other network doesn't have a monopoly on the time slot.
I guarantee they picked our game because it's two shite small-market teams that nobody cares about and no other TV market outside their viewing area would even think of picking up, so that the late Fox game (Packers-Cardinals) will get a maximum TV audience anyway.
The only market that by NFL rules won't get the Fox game that day is New Orleans. Outside of Green Bay, it's the smallest TV market in the league right now (I believe)

So CBS decided to throw Fox a bone?
NFL doesn't pick these games, the network does
It was more likely to give an earlier game more coverage. Not many good choices that day on CBS outside of NE @ NY

Yup, love 3pm games
Same - memories of my childhood going into the Dome for a Saints/Rams or Saints/49ers tilt and having the sun out and then coming out after a heartbreaking loss and it being dark out. Running down the carpeted tunnels and having my dad buy me a $2 pennant of whatever team I wanted from the shopping cart pennant selling dudes who patrolled on the dome concourse after the games.

That seems like a better match up considering both are currently playoff teams. There must be some reason why they didn't want to flex that game. CBS probably didn't want their best game of the day going up directly against "America's Game of the Week" as Fox dubs their late game on the days they have the double header.

Probably part gentlemen's agreement, part NFL nudging.
The 3:25 game is a de facto "national television game," minus 1 or 2 markets. The networks and local affiliates make more money and have a big primetime lead-in.
If CBS moves their big game to 3:05, it sabotages Fox and could start a scheduling war that hurts the league as a whole.
Viewers hate it too. It makes no sense to put the two best games of the week in one time slot on purpose. They cut their own throats.
Television rules dictate only Fox can show a doubleheader that week. If CBS moves that game and then gives it to 2/3 of the country, then there is no early game on CBS for 2/3 of the country. And do you think those people are going to just sit and watch the Bears and Buccaneers at noon? Some of them will go away and find something else to do, which consequently lowers the late game numbers. If you have good early games, the audience will watch football for 7 hours.
CBS might lose, but the NFL wins. And CBS will win when they have the doubleheader.

Well, that certainty throws a turd into an otherwise well orchestrated plan I had with extended family to go to game and visit the city. Oh well.
