You don't think Payton and Drew leaving this year is a possibility?

No. I don't. I think the notion is silly. I've been wrong before though.

I give it about a 10 to 15% chance at most. I don't want it to happen, though. It would piss me off.

Excited also to have a former player coach who was actually good in the NFL not some scrub.

Nice to have a former player coach who's actually played in a NFL game period.

What do all of the NFL's perennial "Top Defense" contenders have in common - Coaches at multiple levels in their systems who were "known names" that were high-level/elite producers on the field.

The Saints Defensive staff, well... Most of their playing careers peaked at the NCAA level... and in unremarkable fashion.... over 20 years ago.

Other than LB Position Assistants Brian Young and James Willis (both fairly recent additions) - Not a single Saints Defensive coach has ever been on an NFL roster.

Willis' few years on-field experience are offset by his stint as DC for Texas Tech IMO (kinda joking ).

Dan Roushar oversaw Mark Ingram's most successful year as a Saints RB and helped him earn a Pro Bowl birth. Then Roushar did an incredible job with Benjamin Watson this year. Watson posted career numbers. Roushar was the OC at Michigan St before coming to the Saints. He is an excellent coach. Anxious to see what position group they put him with this year. The guy produces.
