My boy. Very underrated career
Excited also to have a former player coach who was actually good in the NFL not some scrub. Players will listen to him with open ears since he was a great player in his days so he knows what the heck he's talking about.
Love bringing in some new energy, Dan Cambell is a guy players love and brings a fighting spirit to the team.
Get one at LB'ers coach, fire Vitt/Johnson and this offseason is already a home run

our staff really did need some new energy. Dennis Allen was on staff when Glenn had his stop here. Wonder if this was a Payton or Allen move.

I get what you are saying, but I would be really bothered by a professional who only listens to people that were also good athletes. The greatest coach in the game (Belichick) never even played in the NFL. The head coach of our own team was just a scab player.

What position is Campbell going to coach? Nevermind...just read Assistant Head Coach/Tight Ends coach.
I thought this was funny, "Dan Roushar is expected to remain on staff, with some shuffling likely."

Roushar was our RB coach for a couple years.

That's true but there are only so few Bill B's and Greg Poppovich types although that's another league.
They are professionals but they are human also, naturally your going to respect the guy who's telling you shite that he did rather than some assistant who's only in the Nfl because of his dad/family tree or connections.
Guys who didn't play have to earn respect, guys who were great for the most part already have it from day 1 the name speaks for itself. This doesn't guarantee good coaching but I'd rather be tought from some one with experience who actually bust his arse like you bust yours.
I like former players as position coaches, I don't if I'd like any old player as my HC that would he something to earn one day.
If I'm a young corner in the NFL I'm stalking coach Deion Sanders around like a crazy ex before a guy Dennis Allen.

I also read that he was an OL coach before in his career. I assumed it was something to the effect of him being shoved to the side, but I guess they just wanted to add Campbell to the staff that bad. After reading more about the situation...it seems like a win in every regard.
from Nola.com
The arrival of Campbell, who has only coached tight ends in the past, could be part of a staff reorganization. The NFL Network reported his title would be "assistant head coach/tight ends."
The Saints' currently have a tight ends coach -- Dan Roushar -- and an assistant head coach -- linebackers coach Joe Vitt. Roushar has previously coached running backs and offensive line, so he could be moved to another spot as part of the move.
Payton raved about Campbell when he was promoted to interim head coach of the Dolphins last October.
"He's a fantastic guy, a great worker, a great teammate," Payton said. "He's someone that is tough, strong. I can't say enough good things."

Then why did you say "I think"... Obviously to act like it was off the top of your head.

I guess that seals Allen as official DC. Dude has alot to prove.

Really like Campbell. He will bring toughness.
