Just accept it now if you were wanting them to draft one, too many teams need a qb and/or are in a worse position we are in at qb currently. Even with an aging Brees hes still a top 5 in the league, other teams will jump on one of the top guys if they fall we don't have enough ammo to trade up far enough.

You do realize we still have plenty of picks to trade, right? Mike Ditka trading away the world for the Rickey Williams pick should show you that. If the FO thinks the need is there and the value meets the need, they will reach for that player. But let’s be honest, without us tanking one year for a top pick, we will have to overpay to get the QB that we want.

A ricky williams type deal wont happen with this team, they are not dummies lol, even though Ricky was a solid player. Think they want Mayfield and rumors are hes going 1st and even if he dont go first he will go shortly after. I am thinking they will not over pay and stay put its not like we are hurting for a qb.

Any time you are moving up 20 picks in the first round, you are giving up tons of value. Period. Rickey Williams is the extreme example for no limits on a bad draft trade. But any time you give up multiple picks on a potentially big time player, you are taking a huge risk.

Who is to say they won’t take that risk?

IF we wanted to trade all the way up we could. But I don't think they want to trade that many picks away.

So to say we don't have the ammo is false. It's are we willing to use that much?

And who knows how the QBs actually fall. We could have 5 go in 5 picks with a trade or two. Or you could see only 1 or 2 go top 10.

Rumor is we're shooting for around the 16 spot, and Jackson seems to be the one consistently falling into that 15-24 range.

Not saying we are trading up for a QB (could be Smith or Landry or someone like that), but we certainly could and there will be one within reach if it's someone we want.

There is a major QB sleeper for us late in the first round: Dreaj Foge, Ventura College.

I agree, it's starting to feel like there's going to be a run

Mayfield's hype today probably is raising his stock with teams. If Cleveland is smart they would trade down with the first pick for a team that has a hard want for Mayfield and rape them for picks since they also have the 4th pick and can still get a top qb. I kinda feel that is some of whats going on with the Mayfield rumors

Cle isn't trading out of one. They said that much.

As far as the sudden Mayfield love from Cle, that screams smokescreen to me for a different reason.

I really think Cle does NOT go QB at one and instead takes Chubb or Barkley, and the Mayfield hub bub is to throw teams off of who they really want so no one trades up with the Giants (or the Giants themselves take Cle's guy).

Now Mayfield and the Jets, that seems like it could be legit.

With the expected run on QBs, someone should slide down to us!
