Saints Have Contacted Dwight Freeney.

Look I know all of you are going to want a link and proof and I have none. So if you want to bitch and moan about it then move on. This info was shared with me by the guys I know on the inside. Last night the team and Drew Brees were in talks with Freeny. This may turn into killing two birds with one stone. Signing Drew and Freeney. Once again you don't have to believe me. I don't care if you do. Just thought I would share the info I was given.

I can't say buddy, sorry.
Underhill said last night that us and Drew had contacted someone but he wasn't allowed to say who. Well that prompted me to contact the guys that I know who work for the team and they confirmed it was Freeney.
Take it or leave it guys but how would I benefit from making this up?

Well Mike D did say that he looks for us to reach out to Freeney. Mike has a pretty good grasp on what's going on here.

Is it strange to say that Freeney would be an upgrade over Kikaha? I feel like both would be limited to pass rush downs anyway.

I said the same thing yesterday, though I think Freeney will be on the field more than you think. It sucks for Kikaha's development and raises questions about his future potential, but we probably weren't going to sign Freeney if this didn't happen. We're most likely getting slightly better in 2016 when all is said and done.
