I'm trying to make a Top 10 list, but The Saints' history is mostly so dismal I can only come up with 9:
1. Hartley FG NFCCG
2. Porter pick 6 SB
3. Porter pick NFCCG
4. "Hakim Dropped The Ball"
5. Blocked punt against Falcons in the Dome
6. Goal line stand against Steelers securing 1st winning season, 1987
7. Dempsey's FG
8. Gilliam's KR for TD
9. Meachem stripping the ball against the Redskins
Your suggestions are welcome.
I can't list the River City Relay. I just can't.

It's an off the field moment, but how about Mora's coulda woulda shoulda rant? I feel like that was the moment the Saints got onto the path toward mediocrity, which was a necessary first step toward the path to greatness.

Reggie suttons blocked FG in SF for a huge road win out there in the late 80s
Aaron brooks' first start @ ST louis where we upset the SB champs
Us beating the Panthers in CAR I week 1 of 2005 after Katrina
New years eve win over the rams on SNF in the Dome to clinch a wild card early 90s

I always liked the 42-17 beatdown of Dallas in 06'. I felt that was a big road win and turning point for our organization in the eyes of many in the football community.
but i suppose it's not a 'great' moment so to speak

2. Porter pick 6 SB > 1. Hartley FG NFCCG
Only thing that may make Hartley's FG #1 is being able to see it in person (like myself). But IMO, it still cannot top picking off PM (biggest crybaby in NFL) to WIN the super bowl.
Getting to Super bowl ain't shite. Winning it is what counts, and the Pick 6 won it.
How can you list Meachem's strip but not the River City Relay?

no onsides kick in the super bowl? really big momentum changer

For me, the Hartley FG was the more thrilling moment. Maybe it's weird. Or crazy. I won't try to explain it. That's just the way it is.
Take a wild guess

The River City Relay's level of awesomeness far exceeds your list's awesomeness registering capabilities?

I agree. I get excited whenever I see a replay of Porter's pick, but I cry every time I see a replay of Hartley's FG. After he made the kick, my mother called me and I could hear my father in the background running outside screaming at the top of his lungs that the Saints were going to the Super Bowl.
I think going to the Super Bowl was much more of a big deal for us than winning it. I know that doesn't sound right, but that's how I feel.

i saw the kick in person and i was in absolute disbelief for the next 30 minutes, we finally made it

Everybody I know feels the same way...getting there was the best moment of my life. It's weird but I can't explain it.
Something about doing it in New Orleans...it made all the years of loving the Saints make sense in one perfect moment.

Is pretty irrelevant given the outcome...
Its almost like Meachem stripping the ball and then fumbling it for the Redskins to recover.

Hands down have got to say the re-opening of the Dome... 9/25/2006
Probably one that is the greatest of any team, any sport, ever.
Without this moment none of the other top moments exist.

Point being in relation to my comment?
My point is that the Hartley kick, the Porter pick, and the onside kick are all plays that got us to the super bowl or helped us win the super bowl. They could be 2a. 2b. and 2c. But the re-opening in my opinion is untouchable.
