1. Porter
2. Pressley
3. Arrington

Hard to overstate Porter's impact when healthy. Pressley is practically another high-round draft pick for this year, and Arrington could be another late WR steal.

Personally, my preference without regard to the draft talent would be OLB, RB, S. Now, how it plays out in the first round more likely than not has no reflection on how it looks today. Saints are always moving and shaking, so you never know.

Usually they are stumbling and falling.

Do you know how to say "moving and shaking" in Austrian?

When Obama made his public gaffe the other day, thinking that people in Austria spoke "Austrian" instead of German, it was over his inability to properly translate the idiomatic phrase "wheeling and dealing."

"Moving and shaking" made me think of "wheeling and dealing."

I admit that it was an obscure reference.

Couldn't agree more. The IR killed our rookie class last season. I expect all three to make there impact in 2009 for sure.

quote:

Porter

There is definitily a lot of excitement surrounding Porter. He only got to play 5 games as rook, but he started all 5 em and was easily our best CB on the field. He managed to shine as a rookie playing in an awful secondary. *add bonus points for him being a native of La.

quote:

Pressley

If healthy I forsee Demario Pressley having an immediate impact on the d-line...very similar to the impact Carl Nicks had on the o-line. Both were among the best at there position prior to the draft but fell down the board b/c they were flaged with character issues. In reality they both have good character...they simply just fell victim to the media spotlight on "character issues" b/c of the recent Vick and Pacman issues.

quote:

Arrington

aka Meachems replacement

The consensus on Arringtons talent is across the board. Expect him to have the WR4 position seeled up by the time training camp is over.

Porter did ok in the five games he played.

Here's my question: How does anyone know that Pressley or Arrington will be anything more than bench players for the Saints?

I've heard good things about Arrington's practices this year, but we haven't seen either do anything. They could be the next Ojo or Hass.

Thoughts?

I agree with this..

Further, I can't overstate the impact a new defensive coordinator will make.

He (and Pressley) got hurt, and that's why he went on IR. I'm not saying he won't be good, I just want peoples reasons for why they think he will be so good.
