Hope not. Currently a one trick pony. Bad route runner. Stone hands. Late 2/early 3 is how I see it.

I could deal with a second. If they trade up to get him the entire front office should be fired before the second round

I was on the Coates wagon after seeing a few of Auburn's games where he went off, but I've soured on him. From what I've been reading about him, she seems like Meachem 2.0. I could completely off on that, but that's the impression that I get from him.

Now that we have 5 picks in the first 3 rounds, I'm starting to warm up to the idea of Dorial Green-Beckham at 31. Before we acquired #31, I would have said pass, but I think having the extra picks makes the risk worth it.

He'll be a decoy to take the top off the defense and open up the middle of the field.

He can't catch

I wouldn't mind that in second or third.. guy is a physical specimen with freakish athleticism.. but his hands and route running would need to improve but route running and hands to an extent can be coached up..his intangibles cannot be.. has potential and Brees could make him good.

I hope we don't draft this guy. He has a high ceiling & potential...but I'd rather go another direction.

Especially the ones that are supposed to get drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round. We have 3 total picks in those 2 rounds and that's where the value at WR is. I'd be suprised if we didn't draft a WR with at least 1 of these picks.

im not a huge fan of Coates. But everyone was saying this about Kelvin Benjamin last year. Sometimes athleticism wins out.

I thought we were getting OBJ from Giants via trade?

Coates would be a better Devery Henderson for the Saints. He has the same issues Devery had coming out of LSU - inconsistent route running and inconsistent hands. He is much more athletic than Henderson ever was and plays faster than Henderson. He is an extremely hard worker and great kid. He also is a solid and willing blocker. He would be a solid 2nd round pick IMO.

He'll go later than that IMO.

Saints consistently use guys who fit your description above who are burners.

Are you insinuating that I said we're getting OBJ?
