Saints, as an organization, also appealing the $500K fine and the loss of draft picks, for bounties.

Did the Patriots appeal their penalties for Spygate? I am just curious to know if the Saints are bucking the system with the appeal.

frick yeah. Saints don't give a shite if they piss somebody off. We are definetly the new Oakland Raiders of the NFL.

I love the boldness of this organization.

Honestly, if there is a method to appeal then they would be stupid to not appeal the punishments. Odds are the punishments would get reduced.

Loomis has also appealed..

quote:

Saints spokesman Greg Bensel: "The team and Mickey Loomis, albeit separately, have respectfully filed an appeal with the league."

If they only reduced the $500,000 fine then I'd be pissed

I'm sure Goodell knew these appeals were coming and he most likely already knows how he will rule on them. I too would be pissed if they only reduce the amount of the fines. To get back one of those draft picks would be a win right now. I dotn expect much from this.

I don't see why an appeal would be negative?

Under normal circumstances you have the right to be heard, the NFL doesn't have to change the ruling if they don't want to. To me it is only fair and the right thing to do. All part of a legal process.
