this is obviously the easiest one to pull up. he had multiple great catches that year and actually got separation from CBs.

It looks like tagging him is going to be the best option, and that might have been the best one all along. Let him play another year and see how he does when he's not our only real weapon offensively because I do believe the team will add another WR and Stills will continue to develop. If he matches, or comes close to his production from this year, he deserves top-5 money.
But he's got to understand that if he doesn't become a better blocker and more physical player altogether, he's not going to get the megabucks he wants next year
agree

brees turns nobodies into great assets, but he wont be able to if Graham leaves?
Our WRs are pretty terrible right now outside of Stills. We aren't talking about 2009 Colston/Moore going out there. If we deal Graham, we really HAVE to hit on a draft pick and a FA signing.
And lets not forget that there's a decent chance that the league rules that Graham is a TE and we can franchise him twice for $6.7m this year and $8m next season.

And in fairness to Jimmy and the offense as a whole, Seattle's defense is fricking ridiculous

Great play =/= Great player

that's a bargain, how much would Brees contract be if he signed after Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco
Over 9000million if I had to guess

i think everyone is for this. its if he commands a team crippling contract that the controversy comes in

what about 2011 playoffs? He practically won the game against SF for us before the defense shite the bed

So we can afford Brees and graham making 30-35M per year and be a legit contender?
Mabye I donno, I think he deserves the money but I dont think he should get it from the Saints. I would raather draft picks. Next year we gonna run into the same problem with Jordan. Then where does it stop? Same problem with Harper and Smith?

People act like we do not want Jimmy to get paid. He is not worth top 5 money. I def think he deserves a Gronk contract.

Top 5 Money for sure.

I think when considering how to determine whether a guy deserves to be a top-5 compensated player, you take the NBA approach: regular season doesn't matter. How do you do in the playoffs when teams are zoned in on you?
Jimmy failed that test this year, but two years ago, he was one of the only reasons they had a chance to beat San Fran.
Which Jimmy will the team get if they sign him to a big deal?

There is a difference in what they say they want and what they realistically want. This is an example of the former.
