Haynesworth had only 2 years of real dominant play, 2007 & 2008. Those peak seasons came after already being in the NFL for 5 seasons. Akiem Hicks just completed his 5th NFL season which happened to best so far. Hicks play seems to be on an incline. 7 sacks for a DT is impressive no matter how you try to down play it.

There are so many things wrong with what the Saints organization has done, although there are good things over last 2 years they've addressed also. Getting rid of Hicks was truly mind blowing to me, also signing Fleener to a big contract. I like Fleener but he just isn't worth that much imo. Most would disagree but I feel we let Lofton go a year too early also, Anthony would have been better off sitting a year behind him at MLB, and imo, needs to go back to MLB and backup Robertson.

As far as Beasley, I think most on here thought he'd be a good player but of course there were some that bashed him, that's how message boards work. I'm hoping Saints can get one of the top SLBs in FA as I'd assume they'd come cheaper than a top WLB or MLB in FA since they usually play 2 downs. Move Anthony to backup Robertson, and maybe draft a WLB in first 2-3 rounds.

As much as we've tried to upgrade the LB position the last 2 years it just hasn't worked since Ellerbe can't stay healthy and Laurenitis didn't work out, Stupar is not the answer. Robertson has been a pleasant surprise. I do think the staff has done better at finally upgrading the DT position, as long as we don't trade Davison or someone for a backup kick returner or some shite. I'm also one that thinks Peat is underrated, he has actually played well at LT and LG this past season.

Assuming we grab 2 top tier FAs, I'm hoping they are SLB and RG, and grab an up and coming 2nd tier CB. And just hope Swann, PJ, and Breaux all get healthy, and keep Moore as a nickel. I would consider Moore a 3rd tier type player and he did fairly well. With everyone healthy, a new 2nd tier type CB, and possibly drafting one, I think we will be ok. We need a true DE with a high pick, and a good LB also with a high pick.
