Sean Payton will likely be at the top of this list, just like he is going to be at the top of every list. But hard to imagine any world in which the #Saints -- who have his rights until 2024 -- would be cool sending Payton to a division rival.

Reading through the replies, panthers, cardinals, and charger fans all salivating over Payton. This market may surpass the Gruden haul

Why wouldn't we trade him for a top 10 pick?

remember when the Los Angeles Lakers mortgaged the future of the franchise to the New Orleans Pelicans to trade for Anthony Davis?
that's the kinda haul the Saints should get for the rights to the 1st head coach to win our franchise its first Super Bowl

If there were to be a bidding war and Carolina offered the most, that's where I would send him.

Payton doesn’t want to go there. He wants a tailor made spot with an established young QB and plenty of cap room.
I doubt he wants to develop a rookie because if so, he could have just done it here.
Chargers has to be the leader

Yep. SD is the best option by far today. Arizona could be an option, but they just extended Kliff.
Realistically I couldn’t see Payton wanting to go to Carolina, so I doubt that deal happens.

I agree Chargers are absolutely the leader for multiple reasons. Location for his wife. Young elite quarterback. Great offensive weapons at wide receiver and an elite running back that catches out of the backfield. And there isn’t an owner like Jerry Jones with his hands all over the team. Probably a lot less pressure as well.

Yeah, I’m gonna need two firsts, seconds, and thirds.

I don’t think Payton would be interested in Carolina

If its a large pool of bidders we could get a very nice return. It only takes one to over pay

Carolina is not going to pass on its chance to get a QB for any coach.

Bengals. Their coach is an idiot.

Three 1st rd picks, two 2nd rd picks.

Why not? Let Goodell start fricking the Panthers over.

This will be the year the league decides to disallow draft pick compensation for head coaches.

wait we don't retain his rights for the remainder of his retirement?

this...at this point getting anything for him is better than letting that asset die on the vine.

If Loomis were smart he would release a starting point of draft compensation
NFC South - 2023 1st and 2nd, 2024 2nd and 3rd, 2025 3rd and 4th
NFC - 2023 1st and 3rd, 2024 2nd and 4th, 2025 3rd and 5th
AFC - 2023 1st and 4th, 2024 2nd and 5th, 2025 4th
Price goes up if pick is not top 10 in this years draft and a player may be asked for as well.
