Anyone else irritated we drafted a qb here. Could have added more depth to the LB or OL with what was available and we pick a qb that may never sniff the field on our team. I guess if we had drafted a stud that somehow slipped I'd feel different because that would be a no brainer but I cannot see the value of drafting Grayson there.

Not to be a dick, but you could have just posted this in one of the 357 meltdown QB threads from last night.

Drew Brees will retire before his rookie contract is up. Why wouldn't you want to bring in a good qb to learn a few years under Brees?

I wonder if Pats fans were angry they took Garoppolo last year.

If the OLine investment pays off, Brees will be here a while yet.

Guy is a steal in the 3rd in my opinion. There are good backups later in the draft, but not good potential franchise qbs IMO.

If he was a steal in the third then the saints should have drafted him higher IMO if they were that high on him. LB,DE and O-Line would have been priority in my book. We all know how lethal and accurate Brees is when he's not running for his life. I still think his best season in his career is ahead him with a good oline

I don't think yall would have drafted a qb this year if your FOH thought Drew Brees had 4+ more years left in him.

Who, me?

No, I really think it was a smart move. I know yall want to watch Brees play forever, but he is getting old. Not only that, but looking at the top 15 most passing attempts in a season, Brees is in there 6 times. His spirit might still be there in a few years, but I don't know if his shoulder will be.

We'll they haven't exactly been secretive about moving us toward a more run heavy style of offense. Sure we are being homers but Brees style of play isn't the style that wears QBs out. Yes he has a ton of attempts but that should come down. He's not scrambling a bunch, and he's not throwing as many deep balls as he used to.

I'm all for making the pick there. I say we take another mid round QB next year and another mid round QB in 2017. Then when Drew Brees retires, we have a QB we are comfortable with and don't have to trade for Sage Rosenfields or draft E.J. Manual and Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez and hope it works out. Look at the Patriots, they got Mallett. Didn't work out, so they kept looking. I'm really glad this board is not running the Saints. No foresight and just blind outrage over picking a guy they know nothing about.

Very.

But he's looked pretty good so far so I like it in hindsight.

I just read an article that said that Belichick took a QB that early because he knew the QB classes for the next couple years were extremely weak. When he had a chance to get a guy he liked, he pounced
