Seriously? I loled

Bleacher Report

quote:

Drew Brees has been terribly inconsistent this year, and the Saints haven't showed up every week. They'll get better when Reggie Bush gets back, but their defense isn't nearly as good as last season. Could they win it? Sure. Are the odds against it? You bet.

Hold your breath, here's who they put out in front from 10 down to #1:

Titans
Jets
Falcons
Eagles
Patriots
Colts
Packers
Giants
Steelers
Ravens

Packers and Giants are the only two who I can vouch for out of that list. Maybe the Eagles. Thoughts?

This statement is why I can't take sports writers serious anymore. Do they do ANY research? or do they just watch ESPN to get their "facts"?

I understand it may seem like our defense isn't as good as last year as far as takeaways and defensive scores, but we have a fricking top 5 defense right now. If they did a smidgen of research they would see this.

All this lack of respect could be for the good. It certainlly lights a fire under the team to prove these morons wrong.

Thats pretty fricking bad.

The defense is 3rd in yards per game and 5th in points per game.

I'd say you are wrong to not include the Falcons and Jets

Bleacher Report is written by fans, most of whom slant theoir stories or reports to favor their teams.

This is not worth the paper it was written on.

Here are the real "Power Rankings":

LINK

FWIW, I don't see how we are lower than the Giants and Steelers, one of whom just got shellacked by the Boys, and the other we beat pretty handily.

As a unit, the defense is definitely better than last year.

1st in passing ypg
17th in rushing ypg
3rd in total ypg
4th in scoring defense

The problem is lack of takeaways. That's where the Saints aren't as good as last year. 13 (2nd least in NFL) takeaways this year with a -4 margin, compared to 39 last year (2nd in NFL) with a +11 margin.

As for the rankings, I don't see how the Steelers are 2nd right now considering they've lost 2 of their last 3 games to teams listed below them on the rankings.

I'll say the Falcons, Giants, Saints, Eagles, Packers, Patriots, Jets, Ravens, and Colts are all in the discussion right now.
