At the start of training camp, I believe I had us at 10-6. After the three most telling games of preseason, I am revising my outlook for this team. Our schedule is really brutal this year.

vs Raiders - L
at Giants - L
vs Falcons - W
at Chargers - L
BYE
vs Panthers - L
at Chiefs - L
vs Seahawks - L
at 49ers - W
vs Broncos - L
at Panthers - L
vs Rams - L
vs Lions - W
at Buccaneers - L
at Cardinals - L
vs Buccaneers - W
at Falcons - W

5-11

5-11 seems reasonable.

I don't know if you're 5-11 prediction will be an accurate one or not,...

... but if the Saints are 3-11 going into the last two weeks as you've predicted, they will definitely frick themselves out of a top 3 draft pick by winning their last two games.

That part you got right, for sure.

They'll suck, but have just enough wins to worsen the draft pick. Watch them beat the shite out Seattle but lose to Tampa by 28

Drew is worth 5 wins alone. I feel like the D will play much better than last year so I'll take a shot and go with 9-7 possibly 10-6. Its bad guys but it aint that bad. I've seen worse Saints teams than this hit the field. Only way the Saints end up 5-11 is if Drew goes down early.

Our OL was OK enough last season. We've lost an out-of-gas Jahri and have a svelter Peat.

I'm feeling good about our back 7 and like our DTs, particularly when Rankins gets back.

Drew doesn't appear to have fallen off at all in the preseason (every pass I've seen him throw beyond 20 yards has been beautiful) and he's surrounded by possibly the best skill position players he's had since 2013, possibly 2011.

Edebali has shown some great stuff in the preseason, but I don't trust the RDE position at all. Cam is a stud, but if he gets injured, our DL will fall apart. Even if Fairley, Rankins, Davison, and Onyemata tear shite up in the middle, it won't make a difference if we can't get production out of our DE's.

As I said, I like our DBs, but the CBs are SO green. 23 games experience if Finnegan doesn't make it. There will be growing pains and blown assignments, no matter how well our coaching staff does with them.

When I said our OL was "OK enough", that was mostly due to good pass protection. I know a lot of people disagree with that, but we were 5th best in sacks per passing play last season. Drew's being maybe the best in terms of awareness/stepping up in the pocket has something to do with it, but the OL deserves credit. Still, we were 25th in YPC (3.8). Everyone knows that when our running game isn't working, the offense in that 6-10 range rather than top 2.

I'll go with 8-8. I wouldn't be shocked if we won 4 games. I wouldn't be shocked if we won 11. I feel like both the Saints and Pelicans have one of the widest ranges of possible outcomes in each the NFL/NBA this year. He's not going to be considered one of the most important players on the team, but I think Edebali's production is the wild card and will make a huge difference on whether this defense in the high 20's or in the middle of the pack.

I'll say 7-9. Mediocre at almost every position except QB and no OL. I do think the 1-6 start you project is too negative, though. I think it will be a 3-4 start.
