Is it ok that I just want the potential to watch greatness every week? Not going to happen because:
1. Brees is a great QB.
2. Brees is a stats whore.
3. Brees ego and competitive streak won't allow him to sit on the bench.
P.S. I am not knocking Brees, he is truly the greatest QB to don the Saints jersey ever in the history of the franchise.

This. IIRC, Brees stated in his book that his mindset is to "never let his backup see the field." The guy no doubt has a lot of say in whether he plays or not, so there's not chance Brees sits unless he absolutely cannot play.
