PFF Stats of Game #6

OFFENSE



-Kenny Stills and Colston had a strong day. Good to see that.
-I find it surprising that our run blocking was average overall. Based on listening to the game, it seemed like there weren't many holes. But none of the backs earned good scores this week. They need to play better.
-Speaking of, why is everyone giving Robinson a pass for his fumble?
-Brees is a frustrating QB. Overall, he's very good; but then he makes awful mistakes that seem to overshadow his good work. His score is still in the positive.
-Pass blocking is -3.7. This just isn't going to cut it.
-Below, I added PFF's breakdown of Brees' performance based on pressure.


-I think that paints a pretty clear picture. When he's not pressured, Brees threw with an accuracy of 77.8% (on 27 attempts, mind you) for a passer rating of 131.9.
-When Brees was pressured, that completion percentage drops all the way down to 38.9%. That's really bad. Say what you want about veteran QB's and needing to make better decisions, this pressure is killing our offense.
-Looking at our offensive lineman, the pass blocking scores ranged from +.1 to -1.4. No QB can be effective under these conditions.
-Neither Center looks up to the task.



DEFENSE



-Probably the best score I've seen out of Lofton.
-Lewis, when healthy, is starting to look like last year's shutdown corner.
-I don't know what's wrong with Jordan. It just doesn't make sense.
-White, Dixon, Ball, and Vaccaro had bad coverage scores. This isn't going to work going forward.
-Hicks' score continues to suck. Something very bad happened to this DL. They're just not playing anywhere near as well as last season.
-The only thing we did right was run defense. Jordan actually shined there.
