Per Florio, some strongly believe Payton will be in Miami next year

As they say, where there is smoke...

He Gone

quote:

Once the Saints’ season ends, the Dolphins (or any other NFL team) would be allowed to request permission to speak to Payton, and to sign him. Before permission is granted, the two team must negotiate the terms of compensation in the event the new team hires Payton.

I would think he would go to Indy if he left. He would have the best young QB in the NFL there.

Yea because random rumors about Saban going to Texas, Miles going to Michigan, Chip Kelly going everywhere under the Sun, Sean Payton going to Dallas, Pete Carroll going back to college, Mike Tomlin being fired, Tom Coughlin retiring, Jim Harbaugh being traded to the Browns, etc have all come true. Rumors can be made up by the press or embellished by the press in order to make fun headlines that catch people's attention

As long as they compensate us, sure. Give us their next couple of 1st rounders as well as cash and we're golden. Though I imagine if we do part ways with him, Drew would either hang them up or be really upset to say the least.

Next couple of 1st rounders? That would never happen.

We would be looking at possibly a 1st, 3rd, and 7th; with maybe a conditional pick thrown in depending on how Miami would do the following year.

mmmm i'm not so sure, him and payton have been close but i don't think drew would be totally opposed to a new regime.

Brady and Rodgers aren't young QB's.

It's always a circus when the season doesn't look good. Always something rumoring on an end of the world house cleaning.

Yes plz

And if Drew plays well the next two weeks, attempt to trade rape one of the QB hungry teams.

Now if only we could think of a way to be rid of Loomis as well...

If we could get a 3rd this year and a 1st next year I would be happy with that. Try to get Josh McDaniels or Harbaugh and leave the GM (non-bean counting) duties to Ireland.

I think if we keep Jeff Ireland around, Payton and Brees can lead us back to the promised land.
