Well today we watched a Saints offense without Brees playing, and it's probably the best we've looked this year.

One thing that stick out to me was the taller McCown being able to see over the line better. I'm not advocating to bench Brees, but it just shows that there is life after him.

Well, you spelled "you're" correct so I'm kind of impressed.

I agree, yet people want Payton gone. I don't get it

McCown seemed pretty damn mobile out there. I recall people on this board referring to him as a statue. On the bright side, Garrett Grayson seems even more mobile than Brees and McCown. I hope it works out with Grayson and the Saints in the future, but you never really know.

The playcalling today seemed much better though. It kind of died down in the second half, but the first quarter was fricking awesome. Hogging the clock like that is why we had the lead for a good portion of the game. We just need to be able to do that for 60 minutes.

The key was blocking. McCown wasn't running for his life

You are overreacting to a single game. Common sense says that things will be different moving forward.

If Brees left today, we're staring at a 4 year rebuild IMO...and that's assuming we find a QB.

Where we are now is year 1 into a 4 year rebuild.

it's one game man..

we still lost..

he may be taller, but he sure was less mobile

i just saw someone said he looked mobile.. i thought he looked pretty slow.. especially on the final play

i would actually like to see brees rest until he is more ready than rush a return any ways.. i was very impressed with mccown's play today.. i still wish we had one more big time target receiver.

Just something I've noticed. His height has become more of a detriment as his arm strength has disapated.

Can't help but notice a guy like Brady who is also older, the way he can just zip over everyone with his height and high release. It's such a huge weapon for a QB

This was a best case scenario with our QB playing great (almost perfect) and we still lost. That kind of QB play ain't happening every week. Of course, there is life after Brees, but for the most part, if the past is any indication, it likely won't be that good.

I thought his arm looked better than Brees. I think Brees is done I hate to say that.

I thought McCown did good today for the most part......and here is why I think we had success....Well at least some success...

Not having Brees back there made Payton simplify the gameplan and the playbook.....There are limiations to McCowns game, and Payton called the game catering to that...

With Brees back there, he has elite QB ability, and Payton calls the game that way, but unfortunately we don't have enough pieces around him to make it happen like we used to in the past.....I think the time Drew misses will be a very good learning experience as a head coach for Payton IMO
