per a handful of different beat guys on twitter.

The open portion of practice was brief, so they could have just missed seeing Karma/Cook. Saints let Zenner go and didn't sign another RB, so Kamara has a shot.

Thank goodness the Apple injury isn’t as severe as it looked. That’s huge.

Seems like Payton is bait and switching the Cards here with Brees. His “game time decision” will be Brees sits and Teddy plays one more game, but the Cards have to prepare for both in the process, so net win for us. Savvy move if so

When Drew Brees was asked if he’s playing this week, he said, “That’s the plan.” But he still said he needs to make sure he feels like himself all week. And he said if he tells Sean Payton he’s ready, he thinks Payton will believe him. Brees threw Wednesday and felt good so far.

I’ve never understood a game time decision. Either you know you can play or can not.

There's a third possibility you aren't considering. If you can't play, you'll know. If you can play, you'll know. But what if you might be able to play but aren't sure yet?

or they need to have a wait and see approach to make sure drew doesn't have any negative soreness or setbacks from his days of practicing.

Brees has been throwing an NFL size ball for about two weeks

The smart thing to do is let Teddy finish the 1st half of the season with Brees being a backup just in case. Take the bye to reset and make a run with Brees after the bye. Which I believe is Payton's plan all along

The cardinals will have to prepare for two completely different quarterbacks. Sean knows who is going to start but it would be silly for him to tell our opponent

All smoke and mirrors to keep the Cards guessing.

Teddy will trot out for the first drive.

If the Cards hadn't just won 3 in a row, I would agree with this 100%. I still think it's probably the best idea to get Brees another 2 weeks of rest, but if he is ready to go, it's hard to say no.
