if they wanna go stopgap then Osi or Freeney might be alternatives. They won't be at minimum but neither will get a big multi year deal either.

As far as Big Will it's gonna cost $5.5mil of cap just to cut him. He'll get even less than Osi or Freeney so he might be willing to take vet minimum (for him $840K) to stay. I could see them doing this over paying more for another old guy.

The wildcard to watch is Michael Johnson. He won't be as expensive as Avril (turned down 3yrs $30mil from Lions) but still a large chunk more than Osi or Freeney. Get him and there is no pressure to get a pass rusher in the draft. If there was at great value sure. Or he would make guys that might not be ready day one (like Hunt or Ansah) easier to select.
