I'll be happy with however he contributes as long as he doesn't fumble

This is the only thing that worries me. If he does start doing that he will be on CSP's shite list and will never reach his potential in this offense.

I'm not getting into the who gets more carries this year, but someone I know who had been to two workouts lately said he was blown away at how fast AP looks.

I hope so, then we will have two top 10 backs in the NFL and a top 3 QB with an above average group of WRs.

Top 1 QB. Although is arm has looked jelly in OTAS. They throw anything but 7 yard slants in these workouts?

Where's the Marcus Williams hype thread? Everybody's favorite sauces insinuating all over Twitter that he's the second coming of Ronnie Lott after today's practice.

Not yet breaux.

Think I'm gonna hype pretty much everyone except for offensive line. I'll do a OL unit hype thread. May do the same for D line but add one for Cam Jordan.

These threads are necessary to get hyped for the season. We as a fan base need to do better this year.

Adrian Peterson: “He is a stud”

The early reviews continue to be positive for new Saints running back Adrian Peterson. The future Hall of Fame tailback has a fan in his new future Hall of Fame quarterback teammate.

“He is a stud,” Brees told reporters on Thursday regarding Peterson. “He looks the part. It has been impressive. Obviously, you admired the guy from afar. I have played in a few Pro Bowls with him, so I do have a little bit of that experience. There is something about handing the ball off to that guy and watching him run through the hole and take on anybody who tries to tackle him. Obviously, we are not in pads right now, but you are just imagining what it is going to be like. So, I am excited for that time to come.”

The team’s defenders may not be excited for that time to come, especially when he catches a swing pass from Brees.

“Any time you can get him in space against a smaller DB, look out,” Brees said. “Good luck tackling that guy in the open field. I feel like all of our backs are doing a really good job right now. Our offense is conducive to that. We do a lot with our backs. I think he is going to be able to do some stuff in this offense that maybe he has not done over the course of his career, just because we require some versatility from that position.”

The challenge for Peterson will be accepting that he’s no longer “the guy” but one of three running backs the Saints will use — Peterson, Mark Ingram, and rookie Alvin Kamara. But if Peterson can do with limited reps the kinds of things he did with extended opportunities in Minnesota, it’s hard not to imagine the Saints giving him more chances to get loose.

Just tell me please tell me HOW is there NO way Adrian Peterson gets more carries than Mark Ingram

For starters, I said there is no way he gets the timeshare Frank Gore got with Indy last season. There are obviously ways AP gets more carries than Ingram; mainly they involve Ingram getting hurt.

Ingram is coming off his best season ever, he ran extremely well last year. His 5.1 YPC is a plateau AP reached only exceeded opnce in his HOF career (Understanding volume saturates AP some here, but Ingram can only carry the ball when it's given to him). Ingram is a top 10-13 RB in the league, AP's free agency tour this season suggests most teams do not believe he will reach that same level. I don't think the Saints want AP to take over the #1 RB spot, they want a great compliment to their #1. Keep AP fresh, keep him healthy, keep his runs to 8-12 per game, and give Ingram 13-18.

Ingram is hitting his physical prime, (AP had his 2k yard season at 27) we should take advantage of that by giving him more carries. AP can have a great season with us getting under 200 carries, we have a workhorse back in Ingram and I believe the Saints will want to preserve AP's legs. Could AP still be a 250 carry guy at 32? yea maybe so, the dude is an absolute freak. But is that the best way to utilize a 32 year old back when you have a 1000 yard rusher hitting his physical and professional peak?
