On the flip side, we should have enough cap space for him

this thread is just a reminder of positions you don't take in the 1st round (RB, Safety, TE, Guard)

...and our two safeties, you might want to remind the audience, were graded out as the worst pair in the league.

that's one of those "maybe" positions

in a 3-4, a dominant NT is worth it, but never go full retard like the chiefs when they picked tyson jackson

address it later in the draft or in free agency with cheap veteran options

remember, jenkins was a 1st round pick a few years ago and was defended in the same manner ("our safeties suck"..."he's good in coverage!"..."i trust this FO in drafting").

harper got a HUGE deal that blew my mind, and people defended it on here in similar fashion ("i trust our FO"..."he's better than what we could get in FA" etc)

you don't triple down on questionable moves because you've displayed a clear history of making horrible DB decisiosn

These numbers mean absolutely nothing

You could look at these numbers and come to the conclusion that safety is the second highest value position also in terms of $ spent

Quarterback $14,896,000 - 1st round
Defensive End $11,175,000 - 2nd round
Cornerback $10,854,000 - 3rd round
Wide Receiver $10,537,000 - 4th round
Offensive Linemen $9,828,000 - 5th round
Linebacker $9,619,000 - 6th round
Defensive Tackle $8,450,000 - 7th round
Running Back $8,219,000 - UFA
Safety $6,916,000 - UFA
Tight End $6,066,000 - UFA

Every year this should be our draft. We couldn't lose with this strategy.

Might as well let jahri walk too.

Also its not like guys like polamalu or reed were valuable enough to take in the first. They are only safeties.

So the eagles were wrong in choosing Lane Johnson over Dee Milliner? Both were area of need, but cornerback is more "valuable" according to what you've shown us.

Going by top salaries is great methodology. I mean, its not like any of those guys have been terribly overpaid. Salary does not equate to skill. See Roman.

Guess troy, ed, and darren had the 2nd least amount of impact on their teams winning superbowls.
