Who went to these games? It was my freshmen year at LSU and I was so excited to be able to walk to Saints games. The games were miserable though. I got to the stadium an hour before kick-off in Saban's 1st game back and I didn't get to my seats until the end of the 1st half because of the god-awful line. You would think ticket agents would be use to this with LSU games. By the end of the season, I wanted the Saints to loose to get a better draft pick (Bush) so it was kind of hard to watch. I couldn't give those tickets away.

I went to the Dolphins game. I remember a guy throwing a ball back after a kick missed the net.

I was there for all of the games. Looking back, I really appreciate Payton, Loomis, and Brees.

After playing home games in New York, San Antonio, and Baton Rouge, the NFL had the nerve to steal a home game from the city and play in London.

I didn't attend any of those games but to me that whole season was even more hellish than this past season was. At least this season you could see light at the end of the tunnel.

Back then, you didn't even know if the tunnel wasn't getting ready to collapse and take all of it's detriment to San Antonio.

Me too, on both. Those games seem light years away now.

I say it every once in a while still- enjoy the Golden Age of Saints football while it is here!

1967-1986: 90-200 no playoff appearances
exclude 7 years of the shoulda-coulda-woulda Mora era
1993-2005: 85-123 one playoff loss

That's 33 years totaling 175-323 and one playoff loss. That's a .351 winning pct., which would translate to an average of 5.6 wins per year in a 16 game schedule (14game season until '77). That means that for every year the team hit .500 they had a 3 win season.

THAT was The Black Ages

Even Greater Hope to follow: LINK 37 years, 5 winning seasons, one playoff appearance. Then when the golden age hit- 41 years, 33 winning seasons, 26 playoff seasons, 6 Lombardis in 8 SB appearances.

I went to the Panthers game there. I always try and make it to at least one game a year so the location didn't matter to me.

Steve Smith gave the Saints defense trouble as usual and Todd Bouman had a long day at QB for the Saints. He threw a bunch of interceptions.

At least we beat them in the season opener that year. That was one of my favorite Saints games ever

the Panthers were a tough ball club that year, they made it to the NFC Championship game that year but got waxed by Seattle.

I went to the Dolphins game. The atmosphere was nuts. Tensions ran high at the end. I remember a guy throwing a beer from a seat near the press box area.

I also went to the Bucs and Panthers games. As bad as that season was I always kind of smile thinking of how we bottomed out to reach to new heights starting the next season

Went to every game at tiger stadium that year. The drive was about the only plus for me. The games were torture. Snuck to the fifty yard line every game though.
