The New Orleans Saints are one of many teams that have considered former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores for their opening following the resignation of Shawn Payton.

In an interesting turn, Flores’ interview with the New Orleans Saints came the very same day that he filed said lawsuit in the United States District Court of Southern New York. It was not yet known then whether Flores informed the Saints of the lawsuit, in which they are an unnamed defendant, before interviewing with the organization

We now have some more information on this courtesy of Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. Speaking to reporters from the site of this weekend’s Senior Bowl in Alabama, Loomis noted that Flores had not informed them of the lawsuit prior to the interview.

You're right that impressive wasn't in what was quoted, but it's in Katherine Terrell's article:

quote:

Former Eagles coach Doug Pederson was the first interview conducted in New Orleans, followed by Brian Flores, who had an informal dinner with the Saints on Monday and then a formal interview Tuesday, which Loomis called “very impressive.” Following the conclusion of his interview, before the news went public, Flores let the Saints know he was filing a class action lawsuit against the league and three teams alleging racial discrimination.

I believe Loomis when he says he got informed after the interview. Flores probably wanted to make sure the Saints didn't conduct a bullshite interview so he can add them to the suit, like the Broncos. That's why he waited till after the interview was over to inform Loomis.

If I’m a CEO hiring somebody for a senior management level job, and they throw in THAT little bombshell at the tail end of the interview, there’s no way they’re getting the gig.

Of course you call him impressive regardless of how the interview went. You can't disparage someone who is openly calling a bunch of other people racists because by the transitive property of racism, you therefore now are also a racist.

I've called girls pretty before when I was around their friends however when in reality they weren't. Have to know how to speak to your audience.

Agree… you call the candidate “impressive” and only hope your name isn’t added to the “racist” lawsuit when you don’t actually hire him…
