Draft a QB like Michael Pratt or someone else who falls to us and spend the rest of the picks on OL and DL.

It’s time to rebuild the trenches. Cameron Jordan is old, Marcus Davenport and Payton Turner didn’t work out, Andrus Peat is old, Ryan Ramzyck’s knee injury is ending his career early, and we don’t have many other good players on deck.

Most winning teams these days have a franchise QB and good linemen that can control the game. See most of the New England and Kansas City Super Bowl teams.

A great QB can make do with average skill players. You have to have great lineman to control the game and help that QB out though.

Pratt was awful down the stretch. Got wildly outplayed by a 3rd string SMU qb in his own stadium in AAC CG.

You’re right we should draft all QBs until one works out

Yeah, we don’t have to pick him necessarily, but we need to pick at least one QB. Derek Carr is not the answer at QB. We need a QB of the future.

Are you actually suggesting the Saints draft Pratt at #14?

No. That would be stupid. I would be ok with picking him up later though.

My ideal draft would have Brock Bowers fall to 14, the Bengals trade up with is to get him. We get 18 & 49 and a future 5th round. We pick Chop Robinson with our first pick, an OT like Patrick Paul with 45 and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. with 49. After that it’s all gravy.

So draft a QB on day three. For the saints that

Round 5, Pick 149
Round 5, Pick 167*
Round 5, Pick 169*
Round 5, Pick 174*
Round 6, Pick 192
Round 6, Pick 201 (via PHI)
Round 7, Pick 230 (via DEN)

*=denotes compensatory selection

I could live with that so long as they don't waste pick 14 or 45 on a day 3 QB.

I looked at a chart real quick and looks like trading our top 3 of 4 5ths and one 6th round pick gets us 2 bottom 4th round picks or 1 top half 4th rounder.

Good.

Your argument is still stupid but at least it’s not retard level stupid.

What’s stupid about it? You don’t think we need OL and DL pretty badly? I think both lines really need to be retooled in a hurry. (Assuming that the Saints are actually serious about winning. I picture Mickey and Gayle sitting on their asses and counting their money and not worrying about whether or not we win)

Do you know who the comps are for, goat? I feel like I should know but I don't.

I like something like that. I feel we need more picks. What about Brian Thomas Jr? If he is there at 14 do you think anyone would want to trade up to get him that high?

Round 1: DE Verse or Turner
Round 2: G Fautanu or Beebe or Haynes
Round 5: T Rosengarten or Foster
Round 5: LB Gray
Round 5: WR Cephus or Hatten
Round 5: S Trey Taylor
Round 6: P Tory Taylor
Round 6: RB Isaiah Davis
Round 7: G Gadlin

Edit: I went with Guard instead of Tackle in round 2 because I think Peat played well at Tackle down the stretch.

I would not take Pratt. we have more problems right now than a backup quarterback can solve.

I just don’t see the point at grabbing later round dart throw QBs.

Carr is here, he’s paid, he’s going to be here for a few years. If an actual potential franchise guy falls then jump with both feet but we need players for the post Allen/and eventual post Carr years.

Mid tier qb’s have won too like Flacco, Eli (2x), Foles. Also Stafford.

To be fair, Big Ben and Russell Wilson arent truly elite like Brees/Brady etc and could be considered mid tier as well.

Garopollo/matt ryan almost won.

Agreed. I would consider a 1st round qb also, if the right one is there at 14.

Only elite qb’s last until 40.

Even Big Ben/Matty Ice didnt make it to 40.

If one of these top qbs are there Saints are going to take him.
