Colston-Huge for us to resign. We can't get cocky with our WRs. If Meach and Devery are both gone we need to stay consistent and he compliments JG so well.

Drew Brees-how much of a hit will he cost us/how creative will he let us be with money if he wants the best possible product around him
these are the only ones that truly matter

We could've drafted Navarro Bowman in 2010.

Also could've got Ahmad Brooks.

Our LBs are terrible. Enough with the hoping that Dunbar, Casillas, and Shanle are starters in the NFL. They aren't. Vilma isn't worth his $, unfortunately. Wilson needs to be a stand up rush LB only.

Our DTs were solid all year. They did their job. Our fat, slow DEs are a nonfactor. We need pass rush specialists! They impact the whole D and makes it better.

We may have to pass on Nicks if we want to spend money elsewhere. Porter is gone too.

Let Colston and Meach walk, bring in Roddy White

The Saints have drafted high for D lately and still have no playmakers? I think at some point you have to consider that maybe the coaches aren't developing the talent very well.

I've been saying this for a long time.

I kind of disagree on Dunbar...I think he is a plenty good enough LB for 1st and 2nd downs and only got better with playing time.

Also who the hell knows what Tez will be able to do. He played in a very limited capacity as a rookie over the 2nd half of the year and was pretty good at what he did.

Picking up Brockers would be a good start

A) DT is not really a need of the Saints
B) Brockers won't be there when the Saints pick comes up
C) The Saints don't have a first round pick because of the awesome Ingram trade.

Arrington-gets no separation from the defender, too timid, and if he ain't got it by now, he never will.... bye Adrian

Drew Brees-he could want the Super Dome to be his summer house, we better give him what he wants (even though he has though cluster frick games every once in a while)

Charleston-the ultimate pre-season player.... decent, servicable in back up role, but if a younger, project player is available, take him...

Colston- i go back and forth on him.... size can't be taught, but has dropped more balls than a classroom of 9th graders recently, and seems to lose focus at times.... depends on how much he thinks he's worth....

Dunbar- if i were Payton, he'd be my starting MLB next season... yeah, really... always around the ball, hits like a truck, and getting better in coverage.....

Franklin-depends on the money... the positive is he didn't have a great season, so he may be cheap... if not, see ya...

Gilmore-later...
Kasay- still solid, though wouldn't trust him kicking a 50 yard game winner.... like him over Headcase Hartley...

Meachem-younger of the two "deep threats"... overcame the "bust" label... hands have gotten better each season, but needs to become more physical at the point of contact....

Nicks-throw the kitchen sink at him... gives us best guard tandem in the league for years to come, and allows for deficiencies along the line at other positions because he and Evans are so good....

Porter-really wish he was better than he is, but he's not.... keep if cheap, cut if too expensive... i'm not sold on Robinson, but still Porter get hurts if you look at him angrily...

Roby-good on kick coverage, terrible at kick return.... essentially, any college player with a car note COULD take his job, though not many as good on covering kicks as he is....
Rogers-wrong side of 30, especially playing only 25% of the snaps.... basically, at this point, a one trick pony, and that trick ain't very good.... would have to be extremely cheap to justify keeping him....

Meh. He has shown minimal improvement in my eyes. If we had a stud LB to hide his weaknesses then maybe he would be better. Hopefully Vilma gets after it in the offseason and resurrects his career.

I realize we can't have studs at every position. We are probably stuck with our safeties and DEs going forward.

Here is a curious offseason upgrade: a strength and conditioning coach like the guy in SF. All of those dudes are fast, strong, and relentless.

no doubt...I think its attitude as well with them.

I'd much rather get better on the Dline and live with our current guys at LB/safety. I'm still holding out some hope that Romeus can be a cheap/in house upgrade, Johnson can continue to develop at DT (seems a bit quicker to the QB), and the combo of Jr, Tez, and Cam improving can help with some of the pass rush.
