Who do you got?

I say Deuce McAllister hands down. Everybody talks like he's the greatest Saint of all time when in reality he was on the sideline more than on the field. Deuce received more money from Mr. Benson for doing nothing than Jonathan Sullivan and Alex Molden combined.

Ricky Williams > Deuce McAllister in virtually every statistical category as well as in reality.

"Oh frick. Drew threw the ball a little too high and I had to jump for it. You can't expect my knee to hold up to that, now!"

"Oh well, At least I made it til Week 4 this year. Now I can just sit back and collect my $7 Mill. Suckas."

Runner up is either Joe Horn or Bobby Hebert. I'm sure all you nancy boys will be all over me because "Deuce is a swell guy." Right. You know who else is a swell guy? My boy Jason David. And he didn't go to Ole fricking Miss like Dulymous did.

"Truth. I'll take two years off, open a Buddhist yoga camp in Myanmar, grow a nappy beard, and STILL own Deuce when I get back. Plus I wont frick up my team's salary cap since I'm only making like $1MM a year. Now excuse me while I go puff on some KB while Deuce makes another shitty investment in Mississippi."

Holds the all-time New Orleans Saints record for most career rushing yards (6,096) and touchdowns (54).

Considering he was the starting running back for longer than any other RB in Saints history, I would hope so.

Those numbers aren't even that impressive. It's like saying somebody is the career playoff HR leader for the Chicago Cubs.

He was well liked because he was a figure people came to respect and he did well on the field, he tore his ACls and whatever else but eventually you really can't prevent that shite. Still would have kept him over ricky and not have to deal with the drama he brings

Archie Manning is considered by many to be a God. I think he was mediocre at best, IMO FWIW GTFO

+1

The guy was 35-101-3 in his career. Yes, he didn't have too much to work with, but if he was truly a great, or even a very good, quarterback, he should have had a much better record.

That's a pretty fair point. Archie, like Deuce - is considered a God.

The only things I'd say for Archie is that he didn't miss much time to injury, and he did win NFC MVP one year. He also didn't have a great offensive cast surrounding him most years like Deuce did.

Also, unlike Deuce, Archie moved permanently to New Orleans and raised a family here. That brings a ton of goodwill. In fact, I believe that Archie was kind of unpopular in his last couple of years as a Saint. He wasn't close to being as beloved as he is now. It was on the the trade and him returning home and starting a post-football career here in NOLA that got him back to being Godlike.

Archie probably deserves to be on my honorable mention list with Hebert and Horn. Plus he went to Ole Miss and none of his sons went to LSU either.

Don't really get how you can be a saints fan and really hate and deuce and say that ricky "give me weed" williams is a better player. Do you remember ricky trying to catch passes from brooks? dude must have the smallest hands ever. He dropped countless passes. You blame the Saints best running back for getting hurt? What a true fan...

not sure why horn would be overrated. the guy was an elite wr over the 4-5 years until he was hurt and old.

as for deuce, he wasnt overrated until he injured his knees. 2002-2003 he was a top 5 back in the nfl but after that he took a nosedive. he kind of recovered in 06 but he is just too old now.

I am having a hard time pegging any recent players as overrated.

there are alot of guys that just sucked but saints fans overrated them. I remember someone on saintsreport comparing courtney watson to ray lewis.

I can't either - Saints players have never been historically highly rated.

Most guys I would consider overrated in the grand scheme are probably the greatest Saints players of all time.

spoken like someone who wasn't around to see just how truely bad the saints were most of Archie's years. Case in point, Archie's 2 best years were 1978 & 1979. He was NFC player of the year in 1978 on a team that was 7-9. In 79 they were 8-8 and he was in the pro bowl both years.
