Got a bunch of new vets, some low cost that have all interesting story lines here. Some are very interesting to see if they'll make a roster, some are more how much of an impact they'll have on field.

Kevin Williams
Kenny Phillips
Tim Hightower
Kyle Wilson
Anthony Spencer

Then you got guys like Ellerbe, Browner, Unger, and Spiller in a separate category i think of on field impacts.

Some reason, i'm really pulling for Kenny Phillips, hope we can maybe trade Rafael Bush for some value, save his cap space.

It's hard to say. Kevin Williams would hopefully be great in rotation in the middle. We needed depth there. Hightower could be a sleeper at HB but it'll be hard for him to make the roster. Spencer will be even more important with the Galette injury. I expect Galette to start out on PUP.

I don't think either secondary player will make it.

Anthony Spencer.

Will find out very quickly in camp if he has any hop left. If so will be Jordans best friend.

"Lewis, Browner, Vaccaro, Byrd as defensive secondary ... Breaux at nickle corner."

I was about to post Breaux will be on outside and I hope Williams can bump Kyle Wilson from the roster

I stand corrected ...

Kind of forgot to mention ellerbe. He's certainly an interesting acquisition.

It was more of a quick post on the names Chad mentioned and Breaux isn't a vet.

It'll be interesting to see if Ellerbe will be ahead or behind Hawthorne in the ILB pecking order(going on the assumption that Anthony will win the starting Mike job).

Max Unger protecting Drew. He was just on Sirius NFL radio. He and his wife have never lived outside the northwest so show him some Nola love when they move down.

I want to see if Ellerbe can regain his form from a couple years back. If he does then we could have gotten a real steal.

probably Kevin Williams. Hopefully he'll make a difference in the D-line rotation.

i'm also going to say Byrd too. Aside from ripping the ball away from Julio Jones last year, it was like he wasn't there.

before he got hurt of course.

also Ellerbe.... just because of how sketchy our ILB's have been the last few years. Don't really know what to expect but hopefully he'll be motivated after not doing much in Miami. Needs to stay healthy too.

For me, it's Browner. I know he comes with a reputation for getting beat deep or whatever, but generally speaking, we need him to be solid opposite Lewis.

I can see any of the guys on your list making plays here or there, but I don't see any of them making huge impacts for the entire season. Browner, has to imho.

He doesn't even have to be fantastic. After last year I'd even take an average year from a #2 guy. That said, I think he plays better than average for us this season.

On a side note, and I debated starting a thread about it, but one thing I'm happy about with all the additions....it seems to me we got back to creating competition. Last year, for the most part it looked like we went into camp "knowing" that ok, we know who our starters are and this will be our year, where as now with everything that's transpired, no one is safe (you know, aside from Drew and Cooks). We have enough talent everywhere else where if a guys doesn't perform, we can at least plug another guy to give him a shot.

yeah, i'd say close to at least 1/3 the roster is up for grabs and depth positioning.

what was he supposed to do? It doesn't matter how good of a safety you are, you can't make up for shitty corners and no pass rush.
