His hate is almost as irrational as the Eric Gordon hate.

Both getting paid/costed a lot.
Both are injured every season.
Both aren't blowing away opponents when they're healthy.

One just played for Bama so the LSU fan come out in bunches.

Eddie Lacy is already crowned as some top 10 RB by some people, but he averaged 4.1ypc.

Literally combine Ingram's 1st two seasons and you get pretty much Lacy's #s

I have nothing against him, I just think up to this point he hasn't really panned out. Hopefully he turns it around, I don't really care that he played for Alabama. I hate ole miss and loved Deuce Mcallister, play better and nobody will care where you played college ball.

You're fan base are a bunch of pussies for letting it get to them then. The dude played at Alabama, was an All-American there, won the Heisman Trophy there, and helped lead his team to a national championship. Obviously he's going to have strong ties to that school.

Haha! I love when ppl like you make statements like this, but if the shoe was on the other foot, you would hold some sort of grudge. I stated I didn't give two shits if he repped bama. If the guy was a little more successful or not injured so frequently, I don't think ppl would have cared as much. I get that he loves bama and rightfully so. He spewed shite daily on twitter about bama which is fine. Seemed at the time, he'd rather been at bama instead of the nfl. His play reflected that too. The guy has been a bust thus far and I hope he breaks out this year. How is that being a pussy?

My issues with him had absolutely nothing to do with his being a super-senior Bama cheerleader.

Up until the Dallas game last season he was dreadful. He seems to have turned a corner, and if that's the case then I'm his biggest fan.

I've always thought he got a bad wrap here but I think the whole "it's because he went to bama" thing is overblown. He hasn't been consistently used by SP for whatever reason. He has always ran hard. It looks like his vision is getting better, going back to the end of last year. Hopefully he gets used more in passing situations so it's not so predictable when he's in the game.

Don't bring Gordon into this because you'll muddle the whole thing up. Like saying Gordon blows opponents away when he's healthy is absolute bullshite because last year was his healthiest in 3 years and it was the worst numbers of his career.
Give me ten more Ingrams before Gordon.

But back to the real topic:

Taking twice as long to be equally productive(Ingram way behind on TDs) isn't the best way to prove they're equal.

He looked great tonight, I hope he keeps it up but we'll see.

Read:

I said both aren't blowing away opponents when they're healthy.

Thus far, seems rather true. Eric Gordon has games where he's relatively on fire. Then the next game he's just okay.

Same with Ingram. One game he's on fire, and the next game CSP decides to not use him as much or as balanced.

As a saints fan I never ever understood the Ingram hate. Also the Reggie Bush hate prior to 2009. Players transition from college to pro at different speeds.

BTW there are tons of Gumps who are Saints fans. Don't remember them hating on Henderson or any other LSU/Saint.

You know it's football season around here when the Ingram threads start up. Gotta love it.

Underperforming high picks aren't looked upon fondly. Not Saints fan exclusive.

Henderson wasn't a 1st rder and plenty people wrote him off his 1st couple years.

not Ingram's fault he was drafted high. Perhaps people should be mad at Sean Payton?

...guy still has a 4.1 career average and 1 fumble in 380 touches.

He doesn't deserve the hate, and he's got a big year coming...haters need to get on board

and yet, we don't hear any for Payton. Only for "the gump", and yet we are supposed to believe it is some kind of purely objective assessment of talent and has nothing to do with butthurt over LSU getting skull dragged in the NCG. Sure.

There's been plenty of posts about how we spent too much on getting him and about drafting a player we don't try to feature.

So no Ingram criticism has ever been justified? It's all LSU hate? Are Toon haters doing it cause they're expecting an LSU loss?
