Only executive in pro-sports, not related to the owner of the franchise, that has 100% job security.

I hope that man gets down on his knees everyday to thank his maker for how ridiculously fortunate he is.

100% job security for not one but two pro mediocre at best franchises

Bravo Mr. Loomis, bravo!!

The man had always been the same terrible roster and draft evaluator he has always been

He went from the cap guy to GM, got lucky as shite with the 2006 draft and greatest free agent pick up in history, had all the cards align for the 2009 super bowl run

I have been saying this for years.

He has always been a mediocre GM, did you forget the Haslett era?
. All you have to do is look at his draft history from the time he became GM in the 2001-2002 season.

The lone exception being the 2006 draft wherein he got crazy lucky with Colston and Strief in the 7th.

Go through the list. It's amazing how much the man has whiffed on picks.
Saints draft history by round

-He caught lightening in a bottle with the 2006 draft.
-Was extremely lucky that the Dolphins passed on Brees and then to have Brees excel like has coming off the injury was beyond lucky.
-the super bowl teams defense had something like 20+ tds and was + a bunch in turnovers

The bottom line is he rolled snake eyes with Brees and the 2006 draft. Then the voodoo potion he took wore off and you are left with the same GM that He was when Haslett was here.

Now because of the 2009 season and the 2006 draft and free agent signing of Brees he is untouchable in the organization with all of the ownership in fighting.

Thats the bottom line.

Loomis is the same mediocre GM as heaking out the 2015 draft, he has had 88 draft choices. I count 24 yea 24 that I would consider as being legit NFL contributors for the saints or went on to stay in the league after they left.

27% !!! That is truly amazing.
was with Haslett but because of the 2006 draft and Brees the perception of him changed, but the reality did not.

I was never under the impression that Loomis was the guy drafting players, so my opinion of him isn't as bad as some others. He is a money guy. People have been predicting the Saints cap collapse for years, and it still hasn't happened, and doesn't seem like it will with the cap going up I think. This is a crazy turn on Loomis from the "Loomis is God" days.
