If there were one game that'd change the course of the season which one are you going with?

Week 6 vs. Detroit

We'll be somewhere in the range of 1-3 to 3-1 heading into the bye. Our next game will be Detroit at home coming out of the bye. The last 3 seasons we've finished 7-9 with a loss to Detroit each season. No matter what our record is going into this game I don't see us having a .500 season or better with a loss again in this game. Vice versa a win in this game and I see us on more of a 9 - 11 win season type of trajectory.

I agree. start off with a winning culture and mindset. It means everything

not saying it guarantees anything, but it creates positive momentum

agree that's the most obvious answer, just cant believe Detroit has had our number the last 3 seasons. Would love to have a winning record to begin the season though. Another shitty tidbit is that we have not had an above .500 record at any point over the last 3 seasons.

Week 3 at Bank of America, gotta establish a stronghold in our winnable division to bolster our playoff case/resume. Key to qualifying is winning the South, period. We know Carolina possesses a great turnover-creating defense that can stifle the run but pass defense is their primary liability and Breesus can carve them up regardless of them pinning their metaphorical ears back. Gotta coerce Cam to play reckless, inaccurate passing football, generate an effective pass rush, winnable and critical game before the boys leave for London.

week 1 is most important. you would "assume" that we would lose to New England. I know we've destroyed them in the past at home, but lets assume the better teams wins. Cant be 0-2 and have to deal with a divisional road game and a trip over seas

Recent history says we'll be 4-4 so Buffalo in Game 9 could be the late season momentum changer in a string of winnable games.

4 of the last 5 games are divisional games so if we manage a winning record prior to that stretch then I'd be optimistic.

Yep. Start fast & we are usually in during the Payton era. But we still could lose that first one at Minny, then I think we have to beat NE at home.

This

if we come out and win decisively, it will be a 180 degree change from the last 5 seasons and a sign that something is different this time.

Game 1 against Minny. Period.

We have started 0-1 pretty sure the last 4 years.

And haven't been over 500 since 2013 at any point of the season. Agree, the first game is huge

UUGE for elevating team confidence, this isn't exactly a scrub Vikings team we're playing week 1. This Vikings team was in play at 5-0 to start 2016 without Teddy and AP playing, 3rd greatest total defense and 6th greatest scoring defense that season. They're a viable team to an extent and defeating them in Minneapolis would likely have positive overtones for the season.

Beating the Pats at home would be epic and would give this team all it needs to phycologically recover from years of medicroity.

Week 6 vs. Detroit

As anticipated, our make or break game of the season is coming up and we get an extra week to prepare! The Lions are a good team who have had our number the past few years so we'll see early on in week 6 if the Saints have righted their wrongs from years past or if we should expect the same ol' same ol' the rest of this year.

Dilly dilly, who dats!
