If we sign Adrian Peterson, Loomis has effectively taken running back off the board as a position of need. Before this signing I expected one of our top 3-4 picks to be a RB.

Now that pick can go to defense.
1st Rd positions can now focus on
DE, CB, LB... QB (only at 32)

Doesn't change anything about then possibly drafting a RB in the first 3

They really need a receiving back

Yes, the consistency of 3 straight 7-9 seasons is very impressive.

I still think they will take at least one WR or RB in the first 3 rounds.

The only thing Loomis has impressed me with is he continues to keep his job.

We still need a pass catching back. Don't completely melt went CSP takes Mcaffrey at 11.

Peterson is 32. This changes nothing in the draft.

yes we wished for better but not a total worst case scenario when you consider the complete team overhaul we went through as well as cap penalties we had to get past.

That dude is a freaking idiot. When have the Saints in the SP era drafted or signed someone with big time character issues?

I am surprised and yet I'm not by the fan base on this board. How has Chad become the voice of reason on ST in 2017? What a time to be alive.

So the record the past 3 years is directly linked to the GM, not injuries and coaching?

How has this off season not blown people away?

-additional first and third round pick for moving a disgruntled WR
-resigned Fairley to a great deal (many SWORE this would break our cap space)
- solid veteran additions in Ginn, Klein, Warford, Bush
- just signed AP, again another very friendly team deal
- we had a great 2016 draft and hope to repeat this year with even more picks

this is one of the best off seasons in recent memory.

im not sure we could have done anything better. We nearly had a 10 win team last year, with a good draft we could easily win 10+ this year

Because the reason we needed to "overhaul" was shite drafts and huge signings that failed ?

Its hard to frick up an offseason with a bunch of small signings. Even still Klein could be disastrous at his price, ginn has the worst hands in the league among starting WRs, and only saint fans think Rafael bush is good. And he still has the draft to Dick up.

Warford is a safe bet to hit, as is fairley if he continues the track he's been on. AP is solid at nearly zero risk. Good signings but there is work to be done

at the time of most of these signings, fans and analysts were both excited by the signings. people are volatile creatures. you cant predict that an all pro safety will suddenly crumble.

ginn has the worst hands in the league among starting WRs,

you know he a) isnt our WR1 or even WR2,
b) helps us on special teams,
c) ill just leave this here

oh shite, really? I guess the other 31 teams feel their work is done at some point in the season right? especially right before the draft.

its so easy to be negative and spin things in that way. but there is also huge upside to these past 2 years. you can choose to see them or not, but they are there.
