4-5 sacks in a specialist role is what I'd expect and that'd be really solid value.

He's still young and has some upside plus haven't seen everything due to being on a loaded defense.

Same deal we gave Kruger last year. Hopefully he works out better than Kruger did.

Low risk...high reward. Our FO is killing it so far.

But if he proves it then fans will be furious if we re-sign him to a decent contract.

Cool with it then. Right about what I expected (thought maybe 2-3 years but a prove it makes sense).

Weird pretty much every FA we've signed has about a $3 mil first year hit.

Would have preferred Jahlil Okafor.

I'll take it if he's cheap. Otherwise, not much of a move other than depth I would imagine(and hope).

rays of hope...

Pro Football Focus ranked Okafor fifth in the NFL last season in quarterback pressure percentages per snaps with a 17.58 percent rate. Only Khalil Mack, Don't'a Hightower, Brandon Graham and Von Miller ranked higher in their calculations.

Okafor's sample size is much smaller than those of Mack, Graham and Miller, but it's certainly a ray of hope for New Orleans.

This will probably work out very well for us.

I saw some stats about his pressure rate and it looks pretty good. With a 1 yr deal he will be hungry.

Nick Underhill?Verified account @nick_underhill

Alex Okafor’s deal is actually one year, $2 million with the ability to earn another $1 million in sacks and playing time, per source.
